Supplies:

Instructions:
For the Left Page:

  1. Place one sheet of spiral bound notebook paper with the spiral on the left and the stripes across the bottom. Mat a horizontal photo on ivory paper, trim to 1/16" and ink the edges black. Mat again on grey mesh paper, tearing the right edge and trimming the remaining three edges to 1/4", then ink all the edges brown. Mat a third time on black paper, tearing the right edge and trimming the remaining edges to 1/16". Fold two 3" lengths of black ribbon in half and staple the folded ends behind the top left edge of the black mat. Glue the photo across the top of the tan portion of the background. Write “Had I known...” in black above the photo.
  2. Create folds in the grey words paper, ink the folds, then unfold. Cover an “N” monogram with the words paper, positioning the black stripe border down the left side of the “N”. Ink the edges of the “N” black. Crumple and flatten black lines paper, then cover a “Y” monogram with the flattened paper. Ink the edges of the “Y” black and run the ink pad over the surface of the letter to ink the crumpled areas. Foam tape the “Y” centered across the bottom of the page. Glue the “N” monogram to the left and slightly tucked under the letter “Y”.
  3. Cover a “C” monogram with grey mesh paper, then lightly ink the surface brown and ink the edges black. Place the page on a cutting mat and cut a 1 1/4" slit along the top and bottom of the gingham ribbon printed on the page, just right of the letter “Y”. Thread the “C” through the slits and glue it in place on the page.
  4. Cut out number tiles to represent the year. Knot black ribbon around one end of a paper clip, then clip the number tiles to the top of the letter “N”.
  5. Computer journal onto ivory paper, crop to a tag shape and ink the edges brown, then black. Fold 3/4" of black ribbon in half and staple the folded end to the tag's tab, then foam tape the tag at an angle over the bottom right corner of the photo.

For the Right Page:

  1. Place the other sheet of spiral bound notebook paper with the spiral on the left and the stripes across the top. Ink the edges of a 9 1/4"x6" piece of grey words paper black, then cut small “v” shapes into the edges of the paper. Create folds in the paper, ink the folds, then unfold. Fold two 3" lengths of black ribbon in half and staple the folded ends behind the top left edge of the paper. Glue the paper across the top of the tan portion of the background.
  2. Cut a 6"x1" strip of black lines paper (lines running horizontally), then tear along the long edges. Crumple and flatten the strip, then ink the edges and the surface black. Glue the strip overlapping the bottom edge of the grey words paper.
  3. Double-mat two vertical photos on ivory, then black paper, trimming the ivory mat to 1/16" and the black mat to 1/8". Glue the photos side-by-side over the words and lines papers. Foam tape the “America” cut-out across the top right edge of the grey words paper.
  4. Write “I would have made time.” in the bottom right corner of the tan portion of the background. Foam tape the “Journey” definition cut-out in the bottom left corner of the page. Knot black ribbon around one end of a paper clip and clip around the left side of the definition.

A tip from LeNae: Scrapbook pages don't always have to be about people and events. Memorial pages are a great way to preserve the memories of your favorite places and special belongings for generations to come.
