LeNae's Tips: Turn a portfolio into a unique recipe file with room for stories about the origins of your family's favorite feast items.

Instructions:

Outside cover: Turn the portfolio with the fold at the right. Cover the front and back of the portfolio with plaid/leaves paper. Cover the flap with the blank yellow border paper. Glue a length of green rick rack down the center of the flap. Apply brown ink to the edges of the portfolio using the surface of the inkpad.
Attach brads to the corners of a square pumpkin embellishment, add a ribbon knot to the top. Foam tape to the center of the portfolio. Fold the flap over to the front and secure underneath the embellishment.
Overlap and glue a brown and orange silk leaf. Punch a tag from ivory paper and write "Thanksgiving Recipes." Ink the edges and secure the brad at the top. Glue over the leaves.
Inside: Cover the inside flaps with brown paper and cover the inside back with yellow paper.
Pages: Cut the ivory paper into 6"x12" strips. Stack together and fold in half with the short ends lining up. Place over the inside back and strap in place by tying brown and yellow ribbons around the portfolio. Tie a bow at the outside fold.
Embellish the pages with photos, stories of where family or favorite recipes came from and then the actual recipes themselves. Photos of the finished dish can be helpful for future cooks.
