Paris' Fold-Over Trick

PAGE STATS
Technique: Fold-over border
Style: Monochromatic
Designer: Paris Dukes

Paris’ Tip: Every designer has a little trick—just a little something she uses to personalize a layout. Paris often folds over a side of her patterned paper to create a simple, stylish border, securing it with brads or clips. Take a look at her pretty autumn page to see!

Supplies:

How to make this layout:

Mat each photo on tan “handmade” paper, then ink the edge of each mat for contrast.

Cut two 2”-wide strips of ivory leaves paper and fold over one short end of each strip. Secure with a brad. Attach to tan leaves background page as shown, placing the folded edge of each strip flush with the right side of the background paper. Layer photos on top.

Ink the edges of the vellum phrases with brown. Place the phrases on a strip of tan letters paper, then fold over one long edge of the letters paper. Use brads to attach the vellum phrases under the fold.
