Under Construction
By Paris Dukes

Slide mounts dont have to be intricate to make a great impression. This Under Construction slide mount is quick and easy to make and its a great accent for any paper crafting project (or add a ribbon to the top to turn it into a hanging photo frame!). Paris covered a super-size slide mount with blue mesh paper, then framed a photo in the window. She added artwork in one corner and accented the top edge with a length of printed twill and bradsan adorable accent in just minutes!
Supplies:
Instructions:
- Cover one super-size slide mount with blue mesh paper, then ink the inside and outside edges with black. Glue the photo behind the slide mounts window, then trim the excess photo even with the edges of the slide mount. Journal the name in the bottom right corner with a black pen.
- Cut out the dump truck artwork and attach it in the bottom right corner of the slide mount with foam mounting tape.
- Cut a 4 1/2 length of twill with the phrase under construction centered on the twill. Lay it horizontally across the top edge of the slide mount, then wrap each end around the edges of the slide mount to secure on the back. Use an X-acto® knife to poke a hole in each end of the twill and through the slide mount, then insert one screw top brad into each.
Heart of Teal
By Susan Cobb

Decorating one slide mount is fun, so why not try combining two slide mounts together? The Slide Mount Mania line includes 8 different sizes and shapes of slide mounts, so there are tons of different combinations. Try interlocking two slide mounts like Susan did on this Heart of Teal project, or try covering two different slide mounts with coordinating papers and placing one inside the window of the other.
Details like interlocking two slide mounts just add one or two extra steps, so theyre easy to do and theyll make your slide mounts stand out from the rest! Susan simply covered two different styles of slide mounts with coordinating papers. She added paper and a brad to the window of one mini slide mount, then interlocked the corner within the window of a standard slide mount. Add a shoestring bow in the corner and youre done!
Supplies:
Instructions:
- Cover one mini slide mount with dark teal sponged paper. Glue a piece of teal mesh paper to the back of the slide mount so its visible through the window, then add one silver heart brad to the circular window.
- Cover one standard slide mount with teal stripes paper. Orient the slide mount so the window is vertical, then insert the left corner of the mini slide mount into the window of the standard slide mount, interlocking the two, and glue in place.
- Cut a 5 length of teal grosgrain ribbon and tie it into a shoestring bow. Attach the bow in the bottom left corner of the standard slide mount with a Zot.
Christmas Frame
By LeNae Gerig

The versatility of slide mounts is one of their greatest traits! Theyre not just for accenting other projectsthey also make great projects (and gifts!) on their own. This fold-out Christmas Frame project was created by connecting two jumbo slide mounts together with ribbon. Frame photos in the windows and decorate the front for a frame like this one, or decorate both the front and back sides of the slide mounts to create a sweet gift book!
Supplies:
Instructions:
- Cover one slide mount with red/green plaid paper. Glue a photo to the back of the slide mount, framing the photo in the window. Punch two holes down the right side of the slide mount and set one gold eyelet in each. Mat the slide mount on red cardstock, trimming the mat to 1/16, and punch a hole into the cardstock directly behind each eyelet. Cut out the red stocking and secure it in the top left corner of the slide mount with foam mounting tape. Tie a knot in the center of a length of red and white gingham ribbon, then attach the knot to the top of the stocking artwork with a Zot. Cut out the wish word fragment and use foam tape to secure it centered on the bottom edge of the slide mount.
- Cover another slide mount with red/green stripe paper, orienting the paper so the stripes run horizontally. Glue a photo to the back of the slide mount, framing the photo in the window. Punch two holes down the left side of the slide mount and set one gold eyelet in each. Mat the slide mount on green cardstock, trimming the mat to 1/16, and punch a hole into the cardstock directly behind each eyelet. Add one gold mini clip to the top right corner of the slide mount, then tie a length of red and white gingham ribbon around the clip. Cut out the joy word fragment and use foam tape to secure it centered on the bottom edge of the slide mount.
- Lay the two slide mounts side by side, aligning the eyelets. Cut two lengths of sheer red ribbon and thread one length through each pair of eyelets to tie the slide mounts together. Tie the loose ends of the ribbon into knots or shoestring bows on the back of the frame.
