Designer Tip: 1) Place your blank card with the fold on the left and cover with pink dots paper, with the ivory music notes border across the bottom. Take the Design Tool Patsy 3 template and create the shape from ivory music notes textured paper. Ink the outside edges with Timber Brown ink. Glue it centered on the card, 1/4" from the top. Align the Patsy template on the card with the shape even with the outside edges. Trace the Patsy 2 design inside the shape. Remove the template, open the card and place it on your cutting mat. Use your knife to carefully cut out the Patsy 2 shape from the card front only (reserve this window cut-out for later). Ink the inside edges of the window on the card front. You should now have a frame around the window opening on the card front. 2) Cut a 5"x6 1/2" music/birds paper. Open the card and place the paper on the inside of the card front so you can see the music/birds side when you open the card. Use post-its to anchor it in place temporarily. Place the card out flat on your cutting mat with the card front facing up. Use your knife to cut away the excess paper inside the window. Remove the paper from the inside for now. 3) Cut out the 2 roses and leaves from remaining pink dots/music notes border paper and ink the edges brown. Foam tape on the lower left part of the card. Use the Design Tool Rectangle template to create the shape from blue textured paper. Ink the edges brown and mat on green textured paper. Stamp "A little bird told me..." on the right side of the rectangle with brown ink. Add to the left side of the card front so it overlaps the window as shown. Fold the left end on the back and glue in place. Zot a green crepe ribbon bow as shown. 4) Take the reserved window cut-out and stamp the birds/flowers/cage image on the center, 7/8" from the top. Stamp a branch near the top of the shape on the right side, just above the first image. You will use this piece as a guide for placement of your images on the acetate. Cut a 5"X6 1/2" piece of acetate and place it centered on your stamped guide, extending 3/4" above the shape. Use post-its to anchor the corners in place. Place a post-it on the acetate to mask the edge of the shape where the branch ends. Stamp both images on the acetate with Timber Brown ink, then sprinkle with clear embossing powder before the ink dries. Heat to emboss with the heat gun. Color the back of the images with Spectrum Noir pens, using the DG3 pen for the green leaves, the PP5 pen for the pink flowers, and the TB3 pen for the blue birds. 5) Use Ultra Clear tape to anchor the acetate in place on the inside of the card front. Tape the music/birds paper in place over the acetate. Trim off the green swirls border from the pale yellow textured paper. Cover the right panel of the inside with the pale yellow paper. Glue the green border to the top and bottom edges as shown. Stamp a branch/bird image on the lower left side of the yellow paper with brown ink. Stamp "it's your Birthday" on a blue rectangle as you did for the front. Ink the edges and mat on green textured paper. Glue near the stamped image. Add Dazzles and Zot ribbon in place. Add Dazzles to the front.
