Explosion Box Butterfly Card
By Debbie Samples
Designer Tip: The butterflies make a wonderful box card.
- Card front: Place a Extra Sticky Tape on the side tab. Fold the vertical score line, and attach the tab to the inside of the last panel. Place Extra Sticky Tape on the flaps of the two inner pieces. Attach to the inside of the box, evenly spaced.
- Close the box, so the folds go to the right. Mat two 2"x2" lavender Mirri cardstock on two gold Mirri cardstock with 1/16" borders. Glue on the top left and bottom right sections. Mat two 2"x2" turquoise Mirri cardstock on gold Mirri cardstock with 1/16" borders. Glue on the top right and bottom left sections. Glue butterflies on three sections. Glue a floral circle on the bottom right. Foam tape a small sentiment circle next to it.
- Card inside: Open the box, and fold down the two side flaps and the front flap. Do not fold the back flap. Mat three 2"x2" turquoise Mirri cardstock on gold Mirri cardstock with 1/8" borders. Glue on the two side flaps, and the front flap. Mat a 2"x2" lavender Mirri cardstock on gold Mirri cardstock with 1/8" borders. Glue to the back flap. Glue sentiments and flower die-cuts as shown. Foam tape butterflies as shown.
- Cut the acetate (included in the cards) in " and 3/8" strips. Use Zots to stick a butterfly to an acetate strip. Begin placing the butterflies randomly on the inner strips, the front, and the back. Close the card before placing the butterflies on the sides to make sure they are not showing when the card is closed. Make them shorter and longer. Your box will explode when opened.
