Designer Tip: “Paint” the gears with distress inks.

  1. Card front: Place a blank card with the fold on top and “Chomp” the corners with the ½” setting. Use the stylus to apply the two distress Inks randomly on the card edges. Use circular motions with the stylus to blend the colors.
  2. “Chomp” the corners of 2 7/8”x2 7/8” white cardstock and ink the edges yellow. Stamp the multi-gear image at the lower right corner with VersaMark™, dust with embossing powder and set with the heat gun. Use the stylus to apply yellow ink around some of the gear edges and centers. “Squash” each ink pad on the craft sheet, spritz with a little water and use the paintbrush to pick up ink to color in the gears, as shown. Mix the two colors to get orange. Let dry.
  3. Mat the piece on red suede with a 1/16” border, wrap two lengths of yellow and orange twine ½” from the top and tie a bow on the right. Glue the piece centered on your card.
  4. Stamp and emboss “Gearing Up for a Good Day!” on white cardstock and cut closely to the image to make a 1 ½”x1 ½” piece, then cut the corners from the right side, making a “v”. Ink the edges with both inks and foam tape even with the upper left corner, as shown.
