Grateful Watercolor Card
By Debbie Samples
Designer Tip: Watercolor pencils give this card a soft look
- Card front: Place a blank card with the fold on your left. Cover with Botanical Frames dark pink stripe paper. Cut a 4"x6" Botanical Frames teal border paper with the border on the bottom left corner. Use an X-acto knife to cut around the flower. Glue to the card front, leaving the cut flower free. Mat a 4 1/8"x4 3/8" Botanical Frames tan plaid paper on Botanical Frames dark pink stripe paper with 1/16" borders. Glue centered, slipping the left bottom corner under the cut flower.
- Color the image with pinks for the clothing, brown and tan for the hair, and flesh colors for the skin. Use water to soften the colors, but not too much to warp the paper.
- Trace and cut the colored image with the Patsy #2. Mat on Botanical Frames pink gingham paper with 1/8" borders. Foam tape to the card front. Cut a butterfly from the Botanical Frames border paper. Foam tape on the top right corner. Place the Dazzles as shown.
- Card inside: Mat a 4" square of Botanical Frames gray stripe border paper on Botanical Frames teal stripe border paper with 1/8" borders. Glue centered. Place the Dazzles as shown.
