To make the page, LeNae cut down a sheet of check paper and centered it onto black so she could journal around the edge of the page. Notice how LeNae let the little bee overlap one of the photos slightly—it’s a nice way to lead the viewer’s eye to the photo.

“I picked a black and white color combination for the bee and the background papers to contrast with Mia’s orange shirt and the flowers,” says LeNae. “It makes Mia’s photos stand out from the page.”
