Instructions:

  1. Before folding the shirt, place the heart pattered paper with the hearts upside down. This will insure that the hearts are correct when you are finished. Fold the shirt according to the directions.
  2. Cut out a red pocket using the Hawaiian Shirt pocket pattern and apply ink to the edges. Lightly sand both heart brads and secure one to the top of the pocket. Glue the pocket to the shirt front as shown. Computer journal “be mine” and print onto white cardstock. Cut into a small square and ink the edges. Glue to extend from inside the pocket.
  3. Thread the buttons with floss and glue down the front of the shirt.
  4. For the bow tie: Cut a 3” length of ribbon and fold both ends to the center and glue. Wrap a 3/4" length around the center and glue the ends at the back of the tie. Glue the tie to the collar, making sure not to adhere to the shirt front which will prevent the card from opening.
  5. For the inside: Computer journal “I love you Valentine” and print onto white cardstock. Cut into a square leaving room under the words for your signature. Secure the last heart brad and adhere to the inside back.
