Garden Journal Tag book
By Susan Cobb
Susan's Tip: Lightly sand the top of the corrugated metal, this shows the shiny metal underneath and highlights the wavy texture. Layered flowers over the metal and ribbons tied to the ring are the perfect accents.
- Cut a 9 1/2"x5 1/2" plum metal rectangle. Add adhesive to the tag book cover. Roll the metal through the corrugator and place centered over the tag book cover. Press the metal in place on the cover, then turn the cover over and use the paper stump to smooth the excess edges at the sides. Trim the excess to 1/2" all the way around. Add adhesive to the edges of the inside of the cover. Cut a notch at each corner, then fold the metal over the edges. Use the stump to smooth outer edges.
- Cut a 1" wide strip of periwinkle metal and roll it through the corrugator. Use the sanding block to sand over the top of the strip, exposing the shiny metal on the waves. Add adhesive and attach over the center of the tag book cover. Use the awl to re-create the hole in the end.
- Layer flowers and attach over the right side of the book. Write or computer print "Garden Journal" on the tag and attach near the flowers. Tie ribbons on the ring.
