Tip of the Day

Day 1: Why not give the gift of crafting time this Christmas? A “coupon” for a day of card-making, scrapbooking or jewelry-making with a crafting pal (or one who doesn’t craft—yet) makes a thoughtful gift.

LeNae's Tip: Fill this cute pail with cookies just for Dad. It would look so nice on his desk at the office!

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Cut the border, from the square border paper, to 3 ½” tall and ink one long edge with the brown inkpad. Write “For You Dad” on a striped tag and secure at the top center of the strip, using black brads. Wrap the paper strip around the lower portion of the pail, adding paper to the back to make the ends meet up. Overlap the ends and glue in place.
  2. Write “Happy Father’s Day!” on a small coordinating tag and glue a knotted black ribbon to the top. Glue the tag and a small rust flower under the striped tag. Glue a black button to the center of the flower.
  3. Use the remaining solid paper from the border paper and write “Cookies” in large letters. Use the template to draw a 3” wide circle around the word. Cut out and ink the edges. Glue to the center of the can lid. Decorate the handle with coordinating ribbons tied around the handle.
