Heart Bottle

Designer Tip: The spirals of memory thread help make this bottle fun! I wrapped the ends of the memory thread around a small paint brush handle to create the spirals. This time I use the alcohol inks and blending solution to create a wash of yellow green, green, and blue green colors over the bottle.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Remove the cork from the bottle. Put gloves on hands and place paper towels or plastic to protect work area. Hold the bottle by placing one or two fingers inside the neck. You will be working the entire bottle at once. Add two drops of each ink color on one side of the bottle, then add 2 drops of blending solution. Tilt the bottle and let the colors mix. Turn the bottle and add more ink and blending solution, turning and tilting the bottle until the outside of the bottle is covered. If color pools at the sides, add a bit more blending solution and a drop or two of ink. Keep turning the bottle until the ink dries. Dab more color on bottle opening as needed.
  2. Add a drop of blending solution and two drops of the gold Metallic Mixative to a piece of applicator felt. Dab over the bottle with the feltthe blending solution will add a bit of texture while adding metallic gold to the bottle. Let it dry.
  3. Decorate with heart dazzles and amber crystals as shown. Add cork to top of bottle.
  4. Wrap neck of bottle with Memory Threads and tie to secure. Wrap ends of thread around paint brush handle and arrange spirals as shown.

Triangle Bottle

Designer Tip: I used a piece of applicator felt to apply wild plum and stream alcohol inks full strength to this triangle bottle for beautifully bright color. It's easy to add the Dazzles, and they don't disturb the dried alcohol ink if you need to reposition them. If you want to remove the ink and begin again, simply wipe off the bottle with a little blending solution on a paper towel.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Remove the cork from the bottle. Put gloves on hands and place paper towels or plastic to protect work area. Hold the bottle by placing one or two fingers inside the neck. Working one side of the bottle at a time, add two drops of each ink to one side and use the applicator felt to dab the color to cover the glass. Repeat for the remaining sides, being sure to cover corners, shoulders, and neck of the bottle. Let it dry.
  2. Attach Butterfly Dazzle stickers as shown. Decorate the stickers with teal crystals. Tie neck with ribbons.
