Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Use the yellow with stripe border paper as the background, turning the paper so the border runs along the bottom edge. Mat a horizontal photo on pink textured paper, trimming the mat to 1/8”, and glue it centered 7/8” down from the top of the page. Secure the circular 3-D “Little Princess” embellishment at an angle in the top left corner of the photo.
  2. Computer journal onto white cardstock and crop to a 4 1/8”x7/8” rectangle. Mat on orange textured paper, trimming the mat to 1/8”. Glue the journaling 3/16” below the matted photo, aligning the right edge of the journaling with the right edge of the photo. Secure the 3-D crown tab in the bottom right corner of the journaling. Add the 3-D “Princess” slide mount over the background paper border, 1/2” from the left edge of the page.

Bonus card project!
After creating the layout above, you’ll still have 3 full sheets of patterned paper, scraps of 2 different textured papers and 8 three dimensional embellishments left over from your Almost™ Done Page Kit! Use them to create a companion page for the above page, a handmade card or both!

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Place the card with the fold on the left, then trim 1 1/2” off the bottom of the card, leaving a 5” square card. Cut a 4 3/4”x1 1/2” piece of yellow polka dot paper. Cut a 4 3/4”x3 3/4” piece of pink textured paper and glue it over the bottom 1/2” of the yellow polka dot paper. You should end up with a 4 3/4” square with 1” of yellow polka dot paper along the top edge. Glue the papers centered on the card front.
  2. Cut a 2 1/4”x2 3/8” piece of yellow polka dot paper. Mat on orange textured paper, trimming the mat to 1/16”. Glue centered 1/2” from the bottom edge of the card. Add the circular 3-D “Happy Birthday” embellishment centered over the yellow polka dot paper square. Secure the 3-D “Happy Birthday” label centered over the seam between the yellow polka dot and pink textured papers that cover the card front.

A tip from LeNae: Jazz up your journaling with embellishments! On this “Little Princess” layout, I accented the bottom right corner of my journaling block with a tiny 3-D embellishment, adding color to the blank white space in the corner of the journaling. Try filling in unexpected spaces like these, or leave extra room along any edge of your journaling, then fill in the space with a series of brads or wrap a ribbon around it. Other journaling embellishments? Try replacing some letters with alphabet brads, rub-ons, stickers or alphabet tiles, or focus on specific words by framing them with metal book plates.
