Best Wishes Butterflies Card
By Ann Bernklau
Designer Tips: To get crisp, clear images from the detailed stencil, be sure to use a cosmetic sponge to apply the ink. To only fill in the image I wanted, I used stencil tape to mask off the other openings surrounding my image.
- With the fold on the left, cover card front with light blue crinkles cardstock. Ink all the edges with Sweet Plum ink, using the cosmetic sponge.
- Place one of the butterflies on the stencil near the top left corner of the card. Tape down the stencil with masking tape, making sure to cover the surrounding shapes that you don't want on the card. Sponge on Rhubarb and Sweet Plum ink with the cosmetic sponge. Use this same technique with the center and bottom butterflies. Add Rhubarb, Angel Pink, and Sweet Plum flowers around the edges of the card.
- Print "best wishes" on a small piece of white cardstock. Use the ¼" Corner Chomper to round the two left corners of the greeting. Ink the edges of the greeting with Sweet Plum and stencil on a flourish from one of the butterfly wings. Cut a piece of white crinkles cardstock to mat the greeting on (big enough to leave a 1/8" border around the greeting). Round the two left corners of the mat. Ink the crinkles cardstock heavily with Sweet Plum ink. Glue the greeting to the mat and glue to card flush with the right side and 1 ½" from the top.
