Designer’s Tip: Use brightly colored Distress Paints with the Brush Strokes stamps and stencil directly on the surface of the journal cover, for a quick and easy idea. Add black accents by using Zing Black Glitter Embossing Powder to emboss “live creatively” and add Black Dazzling Diamond Rhinestones to the edge.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Stamp “live creatively” near the bottom of the journal with VersaMark ink. Sprinkle with Black Glitter Embossing Powder and heat to melt with the heat gun.
  2. Place the paint splats template on the cover of the creative journal with the large opening near the top, with the smaller openings extending downward near the center of the journal. While holding the template in place, dab Mowed Lawn Distress Paint though the large opening of the stencil onto the journal, covering the area well; now without lifting the template, dab Salty Ocean Distress Paint through the smaller openings. Carefully lift the template and wash it immediately with soap and water. Replace the stencil with the large opening overlapping the lower left corner of the journal. Dab with Mowed Lawn paint and remove the stencil. Wash the stencil immediately. Let the journal dry.
  3. Dab Festive Berries Distress Paint onto the large Brush Strokes swirl stamp and stamp the image overlapping the dried Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean paint on the journal. Stamp the long thin Brush Strokes image twice horizontally with Mowed Lawn paint as shown. Stamp the same image with Salty Ocean paint overlapping the bottom edge. Stamp the corner image with Festive Berries Distress Paint on the lower left corner and the lower right edge. Wash the stamps immediately with soap and water. Let the journal dry.
  4. Add rows of Black Dazzling Diamond Rhinestones to the left edge of the journal, trimming excess evenly with the edges.
