Once Upon a Fairytale Book
By Brenda Kauffman
Designer Tip: Pop out the oval die-cuts from the inner book frame and use as card toppers for other projects. Be sure that the heart pattern on the inner book frame stays upright before attaching to the book cover. Follow the Hunkydory instruction sheet for helpful photos.
- Outer book cover: From the “My Little Sweetheart” die-cut sheet, pop out and foam tape the corresponding 3-D die-cuts onto the large fairy/snail die-cut. Lay the outer book cover foil side down on your work surface and foam tape the 3-D fairy piece over the same image on the right hand panel. Valley fold along all scored lines.
- Inner book frame: Pop out the oval die-cuts from the inner book frame and save for other projects. Lay the frame foil side down on your work surface. From the “My Little Sweetheart” die-cut sheet, pop out the floral frame die-cut and use Ultra Tape to tape in place over the window on the left panel. Tape a 4½”x6½” acetate over the window on the right panel. Valley fold along all scored lines. Place tape on the back of the narrow tab on the left and fold over to the right edge, fixing the tab against the right panel and keeping the fold even with the right edge. This makes the frame box.
- With the acetate window in front, place the book frame box over the right panel of the book cover and tape the right book panel to the right side of the box, keeping the top edges even. Fold back the top flaps of the frame box and tape in place on the book cover panel. Bring up the spine of the book cover, on the left, carefully align it with the edge of the frame box and tape in place.
- Pop out the foiled oval frame die-cut and tape in place over the acetate window. Tape the “Once upon a fairytale…” oval die-cut on the left panel, surrounded by the floral oval. Close the book cover and foam tape the two small fairies and the purple heart in place, as shown.
