This card is made with Tim Holtz hinge’s, DCCW papers,, a DCCW pre made square card, an unknown brand stamp, one Hero Arts stamp, and a Spellbinder’s label die. It opens on the front to reveal a gift card, and a “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment is stamped inside.

First I would like to say that my mother died 4 years ago and I have not made any Mother’s Day cards since then…until today. I decided to make cards for my sister and her daughters. I had just finished this card for my sister when I checked my e-mail and read about this contest. I have never entered anything like this before so I hope I do it right.

This card was made using papers from Hot Off The Press Paper Pizazz 8″x8″ Wedding papers, and cut out images from free download #4180. I also used the Cutup Trimmer to cut the scalloped edges. All of these items are found on Paper Wishes website.

The butterfly was made by cutting layers of Wedding paper (using a variety of colors) using the scallop blade of the Cutup Trimmer, and gluing them in overlapping rows on cardstock, and then cutting it with my personal cutter (you could probably trace a butterfly and cut it by hand). I also used the Cutup Trimmer to make the diagonal scalloped cut for the paper on the front of the card.

This card is simple and elegant. I hope you enjoy it.

My mother passed away back in’04 after we shared our last trip together. She died within 2 1/2 months of a diagnosis of Stage 3 lung cancer from second hand smoke. She is so missed by many. I create cards for friends and other family members so they can put a smile on their mother’s faces. Happy Mother’s Day.

  15. Kym says:

I had some beautiful scraps left over from some of the beautiful papers I received in the monthly cardmakers kits. I started with some of those and added ephemera from the sarabooks Love & Family collection. I added a strip of lovely Iris Suede paper to back it. The focal is Stacked Hearts Dazzles backed with Jewel papers and hearts vellum. I stuck a heart trinket pin from Maya Road and a sweet sheer bow to finish it up.

I hope you like my card!

Happy Mother’s Day! My Mom passed away in 2007, and I really miss her. So, I decided to do a scrapbook page, telling about how much I miss her.
I used Handmade Memories Paper Pack, and the free download for the tags. I also used Lacy Frames & Border Dazzles, a wooden button, and baby pink bling.

2 pictures made for Mom using Amazing Metal Stencils, Artist Spackle and Perfect Pearls.

  29. I had already made this card and posted it on my blog when I saw information about this contest. I hope it still counts! The background for this card was made using a wax resist embossing using the Asian Embossing Folder that I purchased from Paper Wishes. The stamps I used – including for the butterflies – were all from the HOTP Far East set (except for the “Mama” which I made with my stamp maker that was purchased from Paper Wishes). The focal was cut with Spellbinder’s Marvelous Squares die – yep carried by Paper Wishes! Most of the color was gold and Siren red Smooch ink – purchased from Paper Wishes, and the black embossing was done with fine black powder purchased from – you guessed it – Paper Wishes! Aren’t we glad that we have access to Paper Wishes?

  30. Didn’t get notice that this posted – hope I don’t end up double posting! Anyway, I had already made this card and posted it on my blog when I saw information about this contest. 31. I love to explore Paper Wishes. I found the contest after I gave my Mom her Mother’s Day Card so I made another one to share with you. I have used 1 Sheet of pale tan with pink sweet peas paper, 1 sheet of pink vellum (both from the Busy Scrapper’s Solution Wedding & Romance papers), a sheet of light green cardstock, with a white 4 3/4 by 6 1/2 white card base. I used my Silhouette Cameo to make a cascade card which was mounted to the front of the card. All flowers and butterflies were cut with my cameo (but they could be cut using punches). I then used Art Nouveau for the front art work. It was accented with green patina perfect pearls, liquid pearls, dazzels Gold X13048 swirls, and dazzels gold Bloom Stickes. The tags come out to add more messages, poems, gift cards or photo’s for the mother besides the message to be add on the inside. The front of the card pops up about 2 inches when opened. I hope you like it for more photo’s visit my Blog.
