HOTP Embossing Folders!

Good Day Crafters! At first glance you might think an embossing folder only has one function, to emboss. But thanks to our designers at HOTP, I have the pleasure of sharing with you multiple techniques using our HOTP Paper Artist Embossing Folders!!! First I have to tell you one of my favorite features about the Paper Artist Embossing Folders. I love that each one has a black image printed right onto the folder. It makes it so easy to see the design itself, and easier to find among all your folders. (Because if your like me you have to BUY THEM ALL!)

Let’s start with our whimsical HOTP Dandelion Embossing Folder. I love the way Lawrian embossed this image onto a transparency sheet and then sandpapered it to create this soft and delicate looking card.

Here is a completely different look using the same HOTP Dandelion Embossing Folder.  I created this card by embossing onto Silver Linen Specialty Paper, and then coloring the image using Smooches™! I placed a delightful Fairy Dazzles™ on top of the embossed image to add some whimsy!

Have you ever thought of using an embossing folder on a page? In this next sample LeNae shows us just how beautiful and easy it is to use Embossing Folders on a layout! She created the top background paper by repeatedly embossing kraft colored cardstock with HOTP Hearts & Dots Embossing Folder, and then inked it with black ink. You’ll also notice that she used the HOTP Dandelion Embossing Folder as a featured element for here page. After embossing the image she lightly applied white chalk for a subtle look.

I’m so in love with this next technique Gail did using the HOTP Flower Corners Embossing Folder and Metallics Perfect Pearls™!  It’s amazing how brushing a little Perfect Pearls onto a raised image can create such an incredible WOW factor! She repeated the same technique on the inside, but chose to cut out the flower corner for a different look. So fun!

Here’s a tone on tone look using the same HOTP Flower Corners Embossing Folder  and Distress Inks.  Using 4 colored papers from the Pretty Little Posies scrapbook double sided paper  I embossed each one with the Flower Corners Embossing Folder . Next each raised image was inked with a corresponding color in Distress inks. All that was left to do was cut out the images, and paper piece them back together! But this card could not be complete without first embellishing it with   one of HOTP’s newest additions to the family . . . Pretty Little Posies EMBELLIES™! (WARNING: Embellies™ can be highly addicting and should be used frequently for crafting purposes!)
