Good Day crafters! Stamping isa great way to craft, and the perfect tool for card making and scrapbooking. You can use stamps in such a variety of ways, and achieve amazing results. The best part about stamping is the ability to take one stamp and create a variety of designs with the same stamp. For example, you could take a Hot Off The Press Butterfly stamp and create a soft pastel card using Versamark™ ink and chalks, or make a bold striking card using black ink and spectrum Noir “Brights” sets to color in those same butterflies. The possibilities are endless! WOW, what a fabulous set of tools stamps can be! As you can see, each stamp set comes with multiple stamps plus sweet sentiments…even the small stamps! Not only are they affordable, but they can be used over and over for many types of projects and occasions.
I’ll take you through some projects created by Gail Booth, Susan Cobb, LeNae Gerig, Teresa Welch and myself showing you several techniques with a few of Hot Off The Press Clear Acrylic Stamps! Here are all the stamps that I’ll be featuring – including Flower Small Stamp, Bee Happy Small Stamp Set, Dress Form Small Stamp Set and Janie’s Carousel Clear Acrylic Stamp Set.
Let’s start with Hot Off The Press Flower Small Stamp . Have you ever thought of using a small stamp to fill up an entire 12×12 layout? With just one small stamp you can use several techniques to pull an entire layout together! This project, created by “yours truly” was made for Weekly Webisodes that airs each Wednesday on Paper Wishes.com. This webisode featured Hot Off The Press New 2014.
I used a masking technique plus an embossing technique to create an elegant black and white scrapbooking page! With the masking technique, I created a one-of-a-kind elegant floral frame to capture the beautiful prom photo. Using the same flower image, I stamped the flower in a straight line with Versamark™ ink, then applied white embossing powder to create a unique border that finished the page beautifully. Did you notice the “photo corners” on the picture? So simple and added that finishing touch simply by stamping and embossing!
This elegant card created by Gail features, Hot Off The Press’ Dress Form Small Stamp.
There are a couple of techniques on this fabulous card including stamping the same image multiple times and paper piecing your stamped images. Such an elegant card that any best friend would love to receive it.
You make my world go round card, created by LeNae features Hot Off The Press’ Janie’s Carousel Stamp Set. LeNae
combined Jewel Pearlescent Chalks along with Smooches™ inks to create a soft pastel look. Another fun technique LeNae featured was stamping, coloring and cutting parts of the stamped image out. Once you’ve done all that, simply apply your cut out parts and foam tape them to the tops of the images to create a 3-D effect.
So many techniques on this card! I love it!! The inside of the card features stamping only half the image. Sounds strange, doesn’t it? But, look at the
results! I think inventive is the right way to describe how ingenious the technique is!
created this page by stamping onto Stolen Moments patterned papers. This beautiful scrapbooking page was featured during WOW (Week of Webisodes) First Look that aired Jan 2014. If you’d like to take a peek click here!
And last but not least… Let’s take a look at this Bee Happy Small Stamp by Hot Off The Press! Down below I’ll show you a couple of projects that both used the Bee Happy Stamp, but again created two completely different looks along with more creative stamping techniques!
I used Copper Zing Embossing power on the Bee’s back. I used a Versamark™ Pen to color in the area and then applied the embossing powder. The Bee has a “Zing” to it! I also stamped the Bee image onto vellum paper and cut them out to create a fun 3-D effect.
Cherish Yesterday Card created by Teresa, used almost the same technique as I did in the Bee Happy Card. Instead of applying embossing powder, she stamped the Bee onto patterned paper Chalkboard paper pack , and then stamped the image onto vellum, again creating the same 3-D effect. Just brilliant!
It’s amazing just how many different looks you can get with just one stamp! I hope you enjoyed today’s blog post, and I hope that I’ve inspired you with NEW stamping techniques or have inspired you to join the stamping fun! Try using one of these great techniques that we’ve shared, or create a new technique of your own!
