In mid-August, Paper Wishes’ hometown of Canby, OR hosts our local county fair. As the town fills with fairgoers, livestock trailers, and the smell of carnival food, we are reminded how dearly summer clings to its remaining weeks. The busyness of early summer has started to wind down, and if we are lucky enough we may be able to wrangle our children, grandchildren and other loved ones into joining us at one of our few remaining true American pastimes – the fair. So… in honor of this last-minute salute to summer, I wanted to share with you several projects that conjure the nostalgia of fairtime. These projects were created utilizing two of our very sweetest double-sided paper packs: Picnic and Home Grown. First, I will show you two cards and a scrapbook page from our Design Team, all using our Picnic Paper Pack (click on the images for supplies and instructions):
I absolutely love the Picnic Paper Pack. The cheery colors and dainty patterns are so inviting that it almost feels like I am sitting in my great-grandmother’s kitchen (or consuming spoonfuls of award-winning strawberry jam – it’s wherever your fantasy takes you)! Next, here are two cards and a scrapbook page from our Design Team, this time using Hot Off The Press’ Home Grown Paper Pack (click on the images for supplies and instructions):
Wow – check out those layers on Susan’s Smile Card! Looks like it took a little time, but it’s a jaw-dropper! Another thing I love about these two paper packs is that they both transition easily from summer to fall, making them a really versatile addition to your paper collection.
In this week’s webisode, Paulette and Gail highlighted a few new fabulous tools, and I think we were all excited to learn that yes – Spectrum Noir™ pens do fit in the Perfect Airbrush color spritzer! You can use the Perfect Airbrush with all your favorite markers, and it’s so much simpler than airbrushing, especially if you are like me and love fast results! They also showed us a square cage cutting die from Inky Antics, and the Paper Blossoms Paper Tool Kit which allows you give your die-cuts shape and dimension – very cool! I love the idea of three dimensional paper in general, and I heard from a little birdie that our upcoming Fall 2014 Paper Wishes® catalog will have some brand new cutting dies from Dee’s Distinctively that are specifically designed to take on fabulous shape with your paper shaping tools. It was a fun webisode, so be sure and watch it if you haven’t already!
Thank you for visiting our Paper Wishes Blog!
Have a great weekend, and I hope you all have the chance to create something wonderful!
