Christmas Card Make-A-Thon!

Today we are two weeks from Thanksgiving and then Christmas Season is here!!! December always seems to pass so quickly, so this year I am deeming these next two weeks my Christmas Card Make-A-Thon!

The goal is to be finished with my Christmas cards before December 1st. What?! I know. Part of the reason is because I am expecting the arrival of a new baby girl (!) somewhere in the neighborhood of December 3rd. You can see the benefit to having my cards done in advance!

This year, to streamline the process a bit, I’ll be making use of Hot Off The Press’ Winter Wishes and Merry & Bright Artful Card Kits (ACK)! These holiday card making kits include coordinating papers plus lots of die-cuts and cut-outs. They also have a slightly more modern feel than those from Hunkydory. And now through Sunday, these Artful Card Kits are on sale for only $7.99 (regular retail $9.99)!

I feel like I’ve shared quite a few project ideas using Winter Wishes, but I don’t want to overlook our other new ACK, Merry & Bright!

Here is one more card that LeNae created, this time using the Winter Wishes ACK. I really like the simplicity of this card, as well as the contrast. I really, really like the idea of being able to easily create a number of vibrant and unique cards from a set of papers and die-cuts. The die-cuts make gorgeous embellishments on their own (foam tape is your friend), or if time allows you can add extra ribbon or whatever you choose!

  1. I would like to see a Webisode on card design principles, using the ACKs. Maybe your designers could say how they approach a card: rules of contrast (colour, texture), scale of the PP, “rule of odd numbers,” rule of thirds, etc. Or talk about how the ACKs can suit any card-making style (clean and simple, graphic, vintage, shabby-chic, etc.). Thank you! Love the Paper Wishes products, and live for the Webisodes each week.

    I’m sorry, what is “ACK?”

    • Michelle Gustafson says:

I’m so glad you asked! An “ACK” is an Artful Card Kit which is a coordinated set of papers, die-cuts and cut-outs! Using the acronym saves me a few keystrokes ;). Lately I’ve been showing projects from our new holiday artful card kits, but Paper Wishes offers ACKs in a wide variety of themes! Click here to check out some of our other ACKs!

  3. Wow! This cards feature my favorite color – GREEN!
    Totally love these Christmas cards!
