Join Us for World Cardmaking Day 2016!!!

The arrival of fall means that World Cardmaking Day is just around the corner, and this year it falls on Saturday, October 1st! In the past, we’ve done sketch challenges, but this year I thought we’d try something new.

Working at Paper Wishes, I’m thankful everyday for the love, support and creativity that comes directly from our Paper Wishers. You applaud and cheer our successes, and if we make a mistake, together we work to make it right (hey, no one’s perfect)! But above and beyond that, your creativity is practically infinite! You post pictures in our galleries, on Facebook and even mail us the amazing projects you create. You’ve created a wonderful community on the Paper Wishes Message Board where you connect and craft with boundless enthusiasm. You travel from out-of-state to attend our local Girlfriends Getaway just to create with us!

You choose Paper Wishes, and support Hot Off The Press products. And that’s the biggest (and most humbling) reward because truly, we’re here to inspire your creative spirit. When you buy our products, it means we’ve done our job.

Some of our girlfriends! πŸ™‚

So this year for World Cardmaking Day, I thought I’d challenge you all to create cards around a simple theme: Thankfulness.

While you could also be inspired by the season, this “thankfulness” theme can be interpreted any way you wish! Maybe it’s a fall-themed greeting card, but it could also be aΒ  “thank you” card! Or a special card created just for someone you’re thankful for. Whatever you decide, we want you to join us in creating a special Thankfulness card!

Post your card(s) here in the comments, or post them to our Facebook WCMD event page! Our contest closes on Monday, October 3rd, 2016 at 8am PST so you have one week to express your creativity and show us what “thankfulness” means to you. I can’t wait to see!

Thank you all for being part of the Paper Wishes family!

What a great time at Girlfriend’s Getaway 2016! I not only got to go again, but this year my niece flew in from Illinois to join me!! It was wonderful talking all the way from Boise to Canby! I always love the new ideas the team comes up with for us and all the fun, new items. I hope next year you include a Gellato project. I’m always unsure of how to use them, but I have them all!

Thanks again for a wonderful day! You all are the best!

    Patt

    • Michelle Gustafson says:

Thanks for your comment, Pat! So glad you were able to attend along with your niece! I’m working on a follow up post to Girlfriends Getaway 2016 so there will be pictures soon! And I’ll pass your comment along about Gelatos too (I have the same issue with them, haha) but I know one great source of info is Sara Naumann’s “Mixed Media Made Easy” Computer DVD here: http://www.paperwishes.com/products/4101524 β€” It has a whole chapter on Gelatos!

Thanks for linking everyone up for more fun on the a message Board and posting the photo from Girlfriends Getaway! Everyone come join the fun on the Message Board – it only takes a minute to sign up! And stick around after World Cardmaking Day – we have weekly and monthly challenges to keep you motivated!

  4. Sam Burnett says:

Now I have to scrap THAT photo, Michelle, since it includes me and some of my pink-shirted friends from the message board! GG was so much fun last year, and we are already talking about another group visit next year.

But first World Card Day! Paper Wishes ROCKS – love the “Thankfulness” theme; no matter what is going on, there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for! Sure hope you get tons of entries Michelle!

And we have all kinds of fun planned over on the message board. We LOVE to have new folks join AND hope you’ll come not just for WCD but that you become a regular there – no pressure, lots of fun all the time, and so many bonuses: new friends, new learning, new inspiration, and if that isn’t enough – we give away a Paper Wishes gift certificate every month to one lucky participant in the various challenges on the message board.

    • Michelle Gustafson says:

I can email you the picture! Hope you ladies can all come visit us again sometime. You are SO awesome at managing things over on the message boardβ€”thanks for all you do for our message board members!

Thanks Michelle, Paper Wishes/HOTP for hosting WCD and featuring the PW Message Board. I’m one of those “pink” ladies in the above photo and what a fantastic, creative time did we have at Girlfriends Getaway last year. We’re already making plans for another trip. This years’ THANKFUL theme is so spot on and I hope the blog and our board get a tremendous response.
Thanks again for your continued support of the board and your generosity.
Happy Fall to everyone at Paper Wishes and HOTP.
