NEW Twilight Jewels Brings The Sparkle!

Hello everyone! Have you seen Paper Wishes NEW Twilight Jewels Collection? The beautiful jewel tone colors and sparkly celestial theme make me what to jump right in and craft!

Just in time for Mother’s Day! Susan made these amazing Paper Mache Letters, perfect for your mom or your craft space! Susan painted each 8″ tall letter with Cosmic Shimmer Pink Plum Paint and after they dried she used glue stick on the front surface of each and covered with a different patterned paper from Twilight Jewels. She embellished the letters differently using Twilight Jewels Scrapbooking Dazzles™ stickers and Ribbon Set. She used Soft Pink Ranunculus silk flowers, Tiny Tags & Little Labels Template to make a sweet “Happy Mother’s Day!” tag and Savannah Stroll Buttons for the final touch!

123 white Dazzles™ with silver foil edging!

The Twilight Jewels Scrapbooking Dazzles™ are perfect for embellishing with Jewel Dazzles™, Sequins, Pearls, Stickles Glitter Glue and Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Add even more sparkle to Paper Mache Letters with Glitter Embossing Powder! First, I painted the letter with Peacock Cosmic Shimmer Paint, then I used the surface on the VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad to apply sticky embossing ink to the letter surface. After that I sprinkled Calypso Glitter Embossing Powder over the inked surface and heated with heat gun to melt the embossing powder onto the letter surface. Embellish the letter with a little ribbon from Wildflower Ribbon Set and a Purple Rose and you’re done!

This is such a quick and easy project and it would make a great gift.

Here is a quick little video to show you how easy it is to make your own monogram letter:

For this sparkling page, I embellished the Twilight Jewels Scrapbooking Dazzles™ stickers with teal half pearls from Gemstone Embellishment Bottle.

This Center Step Die-Cut card uses NEW Words Scrapbooking Dazzles™ black stickers over a 3 1/4″ wide die-cut circle from 8 Circles and Scallops Cutting Dies. Add a sweet pink flower and coordinating ribbon and you’re done!

I hope you enjoy the Twilight Jewels Collection as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

NEW Romantique Collection Is Here!

Hello everyone! Now that the Paper Wishes Spring catalog is available online, I hope you have had a chance to take a peek at the NEW must have products! Today I’m going to focus on the Romantique Collection, which is one of my new favorites!

The Romantique Scrapbooking Dazzles™ stickers combine 2 different finishes, black & gold, so you can mix and match! For the layered card, I featured torn Romantique paper and I backed the flower portion of the black Eiffel Tower sticker with white cardstock and colored the flowers with both pink (centers) and peach (petals) from Pastels Spectrum Noir Pens™ set. I added some contrast with the gold Dazzles™ stickers with flourishes and gold flower centers (which were taken from the centers of the gold flower Dazzles™).

One of the great things about the Romantique Collection is how versatile it is. The papers work well for travel (not just to Paris) and everyday family life.

These amazing travel pages were created by Debbie! I love that she used the border Dazzles™ along the edges of the photos and added ivory flowers and ribbons to the corner of a large photo.

For a completely different look and theme, Gail cut around several floral and greeting tiles, from the black tile Romantique paper, and then sanded the edges for a distressed look. She created a halo effect by adding White Opaque StazOn® ink around the photo edges. She added Metallic Silver StazOn® ink around polka dot Typeset Layered Flowers Paper Tole and then layered portions of the flowers with foam tape.

This darling 5 Drawer Shelf by Kaisercraft is perfect for my scrapbooking space! It comes unfinished and ready to assemble with a slot system that is a snap to put together.

After painting only the edges and shelves with Cosmic Shimmer Graphite Paint, I covered each interior side of the wood with glue stick and pink Romantique Paper. Turn the wood pieces over and trim excess paper using a craft knife for a perfect fit and cutting away paper for the slots. Cover the front, back and sides with paper, but don’t cut away paper for the slots…they don’t need to show. When assembling the covered unit I added a drop of Craft Tacky Glue and let dry. This makes the shelf unit very sturdy and solid. The chipboard drawer fronts are covered with glue stick and then paper and I used a line of Craft Tacky Glue on the seams to glue them together.

Not Your Everyday Coloring

Hello everyone! Today I’m bringing you some special coloring projects. I love coloring. It’s so relaxing and calming, but it can get a little monotonous so I like to mix it up now and then. For example I LOVE these Colorista  Dark 6″x6″ Exquisite Florals & Under the Sea Pencil Pads! They are clear embossed/black cardstock coloring pages that look amazing with Spectrum Noir Metallic Pencils.

The images are fun to color and the Metallic Pencils are very opaque and really stand out on the black background. I think they would be fun to use on cards, just crop them down a bit and add a Dazzles™ sticker greeting.

When you need a break from coloring on paper, why not try Galvanized Metal? This is not the same old metal from the garage or flower shed, now it comes in shapes and you can color it and customize it to match your home decor. The 3-D Butterfly has wings that can be manipulated so that it will look like it’s in flight.

There is also a little hanger on the back. How cute to place 3 on a wall around photos or in a child’s bedroom above the bed!

Debbie used Turquose Inka Gold, Green/Yellow Inka Gold, Emerald Inka Gold, Inka Brown Gold and Violet Inka Gold to create a Rainbow effect on her butterfly. She used her fingertips (remove a small amount from jars and place on a craft sheet to prevent jar contents from being contaminated and molding) and a small paintbrush to apply the Inka Gold and then used a soft cloth to buff between applications. She also used a little water on the brush to blend the colors. As a final step she misted the butterfly with Gold Dust Glitter Spray for some added sparkle! For more fabulous ideas using Galvanized Metal, check out Wednesday, April 12 Webisode! You won’t be disappointed!

Here’s a quick little video. Enjoy!

Thanks for joining me today! Don’t forget the NEW Paper Wishes Spring 2017 Catalog will be available to view online April 15 (VIP’s the day before on April 14th).

Zentangle Stamps!

Hi everyone! Today I have some adorable Zentangle style stamps to show you. What is Zentangle? It’s a structured way of drawing small patterns within a confined space. I find it really fun and relaxing; however, if you don’t have the time, but like the look, just stamp it!

This Kaisercraft Decorative Die Stamp Rabbit set makes it easy to get the Zentangle look in just minutes. I also used Hunkydory Monochrome Perfect Background papers, pink grosgrain ribbon from Botanical Frames Ribbon Set, foam tape to give lift to the die cut flower and a Pink Jewel Dazzles™ sticker on the flower center to draw attention.

I left the rabbit black and white, but you can add color to your image using LePlume Markers like I did for the owl journal below. I love these markers because, not only are they watercolor, they also have brush AND fine tips which make coloring detailed images much easier. To make this journal I used black StazOn® ink to stamp the Owl Decorative Die Stamp (so that the image would not run when water was added) onto watercolor paper and then used pine green, tropical, steel blue, sepia and brownish gray markers along with a watercolor paintbrush and water.

Because the images are so detailed I found it easier to color a small area and then use the watercolor brush and water to drag the color over the larger area. The Decorative Dies & Stamps are meant to cut sections from the larger image and layer over the original large image to add dimension. So after coloring the first image, I stamped another image (on watercolor paper) and die cut the shapes from this image, colored them (just like the large image) and foam taped them over the original image.

To compete my blank journal, I used Splendid Stripes Perfect Backgrounds Paper Pad, brown ink pad, Jute Twine and finally black ink to stamp “Be happy” on the lower right corner. This journal is blank inside, perfect for customizing for your own needs. To add some decoration to the inside, I stamped the owl, extending off the edge of the page and then added a thin strip of striped paper next to the binding.

That’s all for today! Happy crafting!
