Something For Mom & You

Hello everyone! Today I have some wonderful spring gift ideas perfect for Mother’s Day or your own home.

This 2 tone “Choose Happiness” standing wood sign is just so happy and cheerful and what a good reminder for us all! Quantities are limited on this Paper Wishes favorite so don’t delay and order yours today!  The sign is a great size, 19 3/4″ long and 10 1/4″ tall. Perfect for a shelf or windowsill.

I gave the wood pieces (there are 2, including the stand) a quick sand to remove a few fuzzies and then I used a foam paintbrush to paint Peacock Cosmic Shimmer Paint on the bottom “HAPPINESS” portion of the sign and Malachite Cosmic Shimmer Paint on the top “CHOOSE” part of the sign.

I used the foam paintbrush to lightly sponge where the 2 paint colors meet to blend them. Paint the base Peacock, let the paint dry and place a few dots of Craft Tacky Glue along the bottom edge of the words piece and slide into the painted wood base.

Punch out Acetate Butterflies in several different sizes and fold their wings slightly. Use a dot of Craft Tacky Glue on the back of the butterfly bodies and place on the letters. Let dry.

Here’s a little inspiration for your handmade Mother’s Day card. The Sunday Musings Papers and Ribbon pair perfectly with the Rose Decorative Die & Stamp Set. I used Words Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers for the greeting and personalized it with Friends & Family Black Dazzles™ Stickers “Mom”. Add some sparkle with Gold Dust Stickles® Glitter Glue!To create a watercolor look I chose Essentials Spectrum Aqua™ Markers. This is such a quick & easy technique to do and nearly foolproof!

Color the surface of your stamp with Fawn and Meadow for the rose, moss for the leaves and Terracotta for the stems.

Mist with water (Spritzer).

And stamp on Watercolor Paper.

Die cut the stamped images using a die cutting machine.

Why not make a coordinating Flower Card/Photo Holder? Paint the wood flower with Peacock Cosmic Shimmer paint and let dry. Cover the flower center with Gold Dust Stickles® Glitter Glue and a stamped/die cut twig from Rose Decorative Dies & Stamp Set. Embellish the wire holder and photo with Sunday Musings Ribbons and you’re done!

Did you know that Saturday, May 6, is National Scrapbook Day? Be on the lookout for our Paper Wishes Blog Scrapbooking Sketch Contest coming to your inbox later this week!

Gail used Sunday Musings Paper Pack, large and small slide mounts to make this sweet “Mom & Sons” page.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great week and remember to make time to play! Happy Crafting!
