September is finally here, and I couldn’t be more excited! To me, September means the start of the holiday season, the start of football season AND free license to haul out all of my fall decorations! But to the paper crafts community, September heralds yet another exciting event – the release of Paper Wishes’ Fall 2014 catalog! This issue, as always, is completely packed with innovative and inspired project ideas AND fun new products! Our Design Team puts a great deal of work into creating stunning and innovative projects just for the catalog (and sometimes the small images don’t do them justice). So here are some of my Fall catalog favorites. Click on any project for complete supplies and instructions!
Here’s a brand new paper pack that I would describe as a holiday stunner! Our Christmas Cheer Double-Sided Paper Pack features the popular “Chalkboard” look with a Christmas twist! Gail has used this paper combined with Silver Snowflakes Holographic and Black Suede papers to create a smashing look for her Christmas Memories Side Step Card (below). I LOVE the sentiment paper covered with wonderful Christmas expressions! Perfect for cutting apart! Click on the papers to see them larger, and click here for even more project ideas that feature this trendy Christmas look!
Our Darkroom Double-Sided Paper Pack is another new scrapbooking paper collection that comes in tones just perfect for autumn or even masculine projects! And just look at the Smile! Card (below) that LeNae designed! It’s full of great touches, from the swinging rectangle to the surprise photo that has been placed inside. I love including a photo in cards – it makes them so personal!!! You can find the swing rectangle card (and other similar styles) on our website, either as a package of blank die-cut cards that are ready to go or… buy the template! This allows you to create an infinite number of these cards in any color you choose! But I digress.
Another great find in the Paper Wishes Fall 2014 catalog is our new GIANT jars of Ultra High embossing powder that each contain 5.33 oz of embossing powder – more than 5x what you would get from a standard 1 oz jar. These big jars will get you through all your Christmas crafts without running out. These Ultra High powders give extra depth to your projects and are available in Black, White, Gold, Silver, Copper, Green Glitter, Red Glitter and my personal favorite, Clear.
And here’s an early Christmas surprise for you – we felt the paper and virtual catalog prices for Ultra High black, white, gold, silver, copper and clear powders were just too high. So we have lowered the prices! Now, when you go to order black, white, gold, silver or copper Ultra High embossing powers, they will show up as only $14.99, and Ultra High Clear is just $10.99! What a perfect opportunity to stock up on a bottle or two! Or three…
Check out Gail’s Tinsel In A Tangle Card that uses both the red and green glitter powders as well as clear for a sparkly, festive Christmas card!
Here is another card idea from Debbie that uses Ultra High Clear embossing powder as well as one of eight adorable new Christmas House Mouse cling rubber stamps from Stampendous. It’s a little hard to tell from the photo, but the ornament, Christmas light and book cover have all been covered in VersaMark™ and embossed clear to give her card extra shine and dimension. You’ve got to try this!
Lastly, I’d like to show you some AMAZING projects our Design Team has created using the new Paper Artist™ Fancy Joy & Wreath Cutting Dies. This is a super versatile set of cutting dies that features a wreath, a bow and the word “Joy.” The die-cuts can then be combined in some really great ways… our design techs are so creative!!! I love how the wreaths are layered in the card below, with some of the holly entwined!
Here are another couple projects featuring the Fancy Joy & Wreath cutting die set. These projects aren’t from the catalog, but I couldn’t resist showing them off! I really love these dies!
Don’t forget – you can find instructions for the other projects from our catalog at PaperWishes.com!
Upcoming Webisode: In our webisode this coming Tuesday, Paulette and Gail are going to be showing you all of our very latest Dazzles™ with some fresh ideas on how you can incorporate them into your cards and other projects. Without giving away too much, I can tell you that there will be some especially great birthday card ideas, so if you have some birthdays coming up you are going to want to check out this webisode!
August Design Challenge Winner Announced: On a final note, I’d like to share the winning entry from Paper Wishes August Design Challenge! Thank you Daria, for your square-shaped, glittery fall-themed card! The Design Team and I agree – it’s a gorgeous card! Nicely done.
Our winner, Daria Sikorski, is a retired office manager, wife, mother of three beautiful daughters and grandmother to 3 beautiful granddaughters.
