Angels & Butterfly Cards

Hi everyone! Today I’m bringing you things with wings, or Angels and Butterfly cards, which are 2 of my favorite ethereal images.

First up is a Frame Pop-Out Die-Cut Card using Sara Davies Guardian Angel Cutting Die.

The Frame Pop-Out Die-Cut Cards come ready to decorate with your favorite papers and embellishments which makes this card a snap to put together!

I love the intricate details on this angel. She is so beautiful!

I used gold and black papers, from Christmas Wonder Paper Pack, on the inside frame and sides and added Red Jewel Border Dazzles™ Stickers for sparkle.

I die cut the angel from Metallic Gold Paper,  backed it with Vellum and embellished the skirt with Red Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers and a bow made from Christmas Wonders Ribbon Set.

For the card front, I traced the frame pattern onto Red Christmas Wonder Paper and matted it with Vellum.” Merry Christmas”  was cut from Metallic Gold Paper using Christmas Script Greetings Cutting Dies.

This butterfly card contains some mixed media elements. After covering the card with Winter’s Butterfly tan text paper I tore papers for the border.

Next I used Flutterby Butterflies Stencil and a lavender ink pad along the right edge.

When using the  Layering Butterflies Stamps, I like to use the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and 2 shades of purple ink.

Finally, I used the Layering Butterflies Cutting Dies to die-cut each large butterfly, create a top layer from blue paper and I added foam tape under each wing to give a lift. Stamp some small dark purple butterflies and embellish with Stickles Silver Glitter Glue and add “Love” cut from both navy blue paper and Metallic Silver Paper using Script Greeting Cutting Dies.

That’s all for today. Have a wonderful week and try to leave some time to make something pretty and pass it on to someone else. Happy Crafting!

Christmas Card & Faith Card

Hello everyone! Do you like making special one-of-a-kind Christmas cards for family and friends or do you make several of the same kind and then move on to something new? Either way, it’s nice to have tools that we can use repeatedly.

I made these woodsy wreath cards using Dee’s Distinctively™ Cutting Dies Wreath Builder, Hot Off The Press 120 Merry Christmas Dazzles™ Stickers, Red Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers, Emerald Glimmer Paper, Christmas Cabin Paper Pack and Ribbon Set.

The Wreath Builder Dies make these cards quick to make. I cut leaves from 3 different green papers and then used a large stylus on a foam surface (mouse pad or craft foam) to curve each leaf.

Use Glue or Zots™ to place each leaf around the edges of a 2 1/2″ wide circle die-cut .

Place foam tape on the back of the circle and place on the card front.

Place a bow and large Red Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers as shown. I especially like that 120 Merry Christmas Dazzles™ Stickers features multiple greetings in the same font and color, which helps in making identical cards.

Looking to after Chritmas projects, Penny Black has a wonderful line of faith based stamps that I have seen used in Bible Journaling, but I wondered how I would use them on cards.

Here is what I came up with….

The same Penny Black Stamps, Gifts From Above and Spiritual Snippets, just used in a new way.

I paired the stamps with Onyx Glimmer Paper, Zen Butterflies Dazzles™ Stickers and Tim Holtz’s Metallic Distress Crayons to create the shimmery background.

For the background I colored white cardstock with lines of gold, bronze and silver crayon.

Then I misted the cardstock lightly with a Spritzer filled with water.

Finally, I smudged the moistened crayon with my fingertips and blotted with a dry paper towel. I added Zen Butterfly Dazzles™ Stickers and both Gifts From Above and Spiritual Snippets Stamps which are both so versatile when making cards of encouragement.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you found some inspiration for your next project. Happy crafting!

Thanksgiving Paper Crafts For You Table

Hello everyone! Thanksgiving is so dear to my heart and I love getting together with family and friends. Some of us do casual Thanksgivings, but my mother taught me how to set a proper table and it’s really the one time of year that I get a chance to go all out!

This year I’m making these cute personalized place setting cards for each dinner guest. Our family loves to laugh so I added a little note to each one. The Spellbinders® Turkey Cutting Die made assembling these cards Quick & Easy (which I love!). Cardstock and green dot paper from Timeless Treasurers Paper Pack, Jute Twine, a Brown Ink Pad and some computer journaling are all that’s necessary to make these fun little cards.

Why not make matching favors for your guests! These little Fry Boxes are already assembled and waiting to be covered with Timeless Treasurers green and brown dot papers, Spellbinders® Turkey Cutting Die and filled with candy corn!

To continue with my theme I used Art Impressions Full Of Thanks Stamp Set to make this fun card to send to a far away friend. Timeless Treasurers Paper Pack and Ribbon Set, Wood Texture Embossing Folder and 8 Circles and Scallops Cutting Dies make a cute background for this fancy turkey colored with Browns and Reds Spectrum Noir™ Pen Sets.

That’s all I’ve got for today. I’ll have a new batch of goodies for you next week. Happy crafting!

Quick & Easy Christmas Cardmaking

Hi everyone! It’s officially fall and time to turn my attention to Christmas Cards! I don’t know about you, but I’m a fan of the Quick & Easy Christmas card that has lots of WOW!

This sparkly snowflake card is made using Winter’s Butterfly Paper Pack, Ribbon Set, White Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers, Black Tiny Christmas Words Dazzles™ Stickers, Paper House Home For Christmas Merry Laser Cut Card Pack and Cosmic Shimmer Lavender Glitter Kiss.

Here’s a little tip for you when using the Merry Laser Cut Card Topper. I placed it on white cardstock then covered it with the Cosmic Shimmer Lavender Glitter Kiss. I used several coats of glitter to cover snowflakes and found that after removing the Snowflake Laser Cut piece, I really liked the stenciled image that was left behind! So I made a card with it!

Once again, I used Winter’s Butterfly Paper Pack,  Ribbon Set and then I added some  Fuchsia Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers and Birthday Greetings Dazzles™ Stickers for the winter birthdays in my family.

10 Minute Cards:

Here are a few more examples of Quick & Easy Cards. I love these colorful little note cards and I paired them with 26 Christmas Metal Stencils Value Pack and Silver Chrome, Lavender, Sky Blue, Sea Green and Sahara Gold Glitter Kiss! Because Glitter Kiss dries so fast, I was able to make each card in 10 minutes or less! No Kidding!

I would suggest using Stencil Tape to keep things in place and masking off unwanted areas of the metal stencils.

Here is a little video from Creative Expressions that has lots of helpful tips for using Glitter Kiss.

That’s all for today. Enjoy your day and be sure to leave time to make something pretty. Happy Crafting!

Garden Walk Cardmaking

Hello everyone! I love this time of year when I can share more new and wonderful paper packs with you! Today is Garden Walk! These papers are inspired by botanical gardens, but the colors are also perfect for the fall season.

This first card features the Penny Black Serenity & Peace tree and Believe dies which are both so versatile.

The 4″ Round Paper Doily is easily customized by inking the edge with bronze ink from Basics Cat’s Eye® Queue® Ink Pads.

Die cut the Serenity & Peace tree from Double Sided Adhesive and place it over the doily.

After removing the backing I sprinkled Gemstones Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes over the adhesive and then used Scoochy Foam square to burnish off the excess flake. Don’t waste it! Return the excess flakes to the jar and use it again.

Cut the Penny Black Believe die from black cardstock and glue over the trunk of the tree.

For a completely different look I paired the Garden Walk Papers and Ribbon Set with the Prima Princess Collection Stella Stamp and Penny Black Vine Borders Cutting Dies.

After stamping the image with Black Memento Ink, I used FS7 from Pastels Spectrum Noir™ Pen Set to outline areas on the face and body.

Next I colored the skin with FS4, blending the darker shade with the light.

If coloring stamps with skin tones intimidates you, then consider spot coloring the image, omitting the skin tones and focusing on the flowers.

When coloring the flowers, I continued to use Pastels Spectrum Noir™ Pen Set as well as Purple and Pink Spectrum Noir™ Pen Sets. Once cut out I can easily substitute this spot colored image for the fully colored one on my card.

Thanks for joining me today. Remember to make some time during the week to craft something pretty. Happy Crafting!

Beautiful Paper Painting Papers

Hello everyone! I have more beautiful new papers to share with you today!

Paper Painting Paper Pack is a vibrant paper pack filled with colorful flowers and butterflies.

Gail made this amazing page using the coordinating Paper Painting Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers, Ribbon Set, Teal flower and Buttons Galore Fiesta Buttons collection. I love how Gail framed her photo using a large circle using the Easy Circles Template and curved the Dazzles™ Sticker words along the edge.

When I used Pink and Green Spectrum Noir™ Pen Sets to color the Penny Black Awaken Stamp I was pleased at how the vibrant colors in the Paper Painting Papers really made the image pop! I added an aqua bow from the coordinating Paper Painting Ribbon Set and a cheerful greeting from Everyday Greetings Dazzles™ Stickers to complete this card.

Gail made this beautiful poppy card using Layering Poppies Stamp Set and Pink and Yellow/Green Cat’s Eye Queue Ink Pad Sets. Using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform makes putting this card together a snap!

Stamp the background image onto ivory cardstock using medium pink ink. The magnets are handy to keep things in place while you stamp.

Align the next layer of the poppy directly over the first stamped background image.

Close the Stamping Platform cover to adhere the stamp.

Open the cover,  apply magenta ink, and stamp the image.

Finally, stamp the last poppy layer with dark pink ink as you did for the previous layers.

After stamping the leaves with 2 shades of green ink, add dots of  Stickles™ Gold Glitter Glue to the flower center for sparkle!

For more inspiration using the Paper Painting Collection, check out the September 6, 2017 Webisode. The Layering Poppies Stamp Set will be featured on September 13.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to leave a little time in your life to make something pretty. Happy Crafting!

Winter’s Butterfly

Hello everyone, I have a wonderful new paper collection to show you! Winter’s Butterfly Paper Pack combines the unexpected themes of butterflies and snowflakes beautifully!

I love the page that Debbie made using Winter’s Butterfly Papers, Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers and Purple Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers.

This stunning butterfly card features the Christmas Clearly Creative Kit, which includes 5 sheets of printed acetate, each with a different Christmas theme. Susan used Tim Holtz® Alcohol Inks Eggplant, Cranberry & Lettuce  and Pool to color the back side of the acetate (if you color the front the alcohol in the ink will remove the printed image). She then backed the colored acetate with Clear Glitter Sheets for sparkle! A bow made from Winter’s Butterfly Ribbons adds the finishing touch.

For this card, I altered Jeweled Snowflake Dazzles™ Stickers with Purple Spectrum Noir™ Pens.

While the Jeweled Snowflake Dazzles™ Stickers were still on the backing sheet I colored them with Spectrum Noir™ Purple (PL4) Pens.

Then I added a darker shade of purple (LV3) to add some contrast.

After placing the Dazzles™ Stickers on the card, I colored in some of the jewels with dark purple (LV3) and then added drops of Bottle Green and Oyster Grey Nuvo Crystal Drops for dimension.

A large purple flower from Petaloo Botanical Blooms Lavender/Purple and Winter’s Butterfly Ribbon on the top left corner finishes this card.

That’s all for today! Don’t miss our New Week Of Webisodes, August 28-September 1 and happy crafting!

Paper Crafts For Your Home

Hi everyone, I’m so excited to show you some 3-D paper crafts that make adorable home decor and great gifts!

These little garden boxes of succulents and cacti were easy and fun to make! I used Sizzix Thinlits Succulents 2-D & 3-D Die Set and cut the shapes from green, aqua, gray and lavender Pastel Cardstock, curved the petal by wrapping each around a pencil and then inked the edges purple, green, dark pink and aqua before assembling.

I glued floral foam (from my local dollar store) into large and medium size Tim Holtz Idea-ology Vignette Boxes and tucked Spanish Moss (dollar store again) around the edges.

For additional dimension, I placed dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew on the round cactus sections and let dry. I followed the manufacturer’s instructions for assembling the 3-D pieces and hot glued them directly to the foam. I Tucked moss among the pieces to cover the foam, use Twilight Jewels sheer purple dot ribbon to make a bow for each box and glue, as shown.

To make a “Welcome” wall hanging I covered a chipboard “W” with barn wood Seaside Paper. I used Timber Brown StazOn™ Ink along the letter edges and bottom half of the Galvanized Metal Welcome Sign and hot glued the sign across the letter. I hot glued a cluster of paper succulents and moss to the bottom left, a single succulent and moss to the top right, and a tiny succulent overlapping the “Welcome” sign. I made a loopy bow from brown Seaside Ribbon Set and glue it to the top left side of the succulent. Place a Clear Self-Adhesive Hanger on the top back of the on the “W” center.

This 3-D hydrangea card includes a canning jar vase from Well Preserved Stamp Set, Garden Notes Hydrangea Cutting Die Set Inside/Outside Greetings Dazzles™ Stickers and Romantique Paper Pack  & Ribbon Set.

I cut the individual blossoms from both pink and light blue Romantique papers and inked each using a Pink Ink Pad. I used a stylus to gently curve the blossom petals and then glued them in a tight cluster, as shown. Glue a pink seed bead, from Pretty Princess Embellishment Bottle, to the centers of random blossoms. Die cut the leaves and stems from green Romantique Paper and ink edges with a green ink pad. To see this process, check out the Elizabeth Craft Weekly Webisode, which will air tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by and remember to set aside some time during these long summer evenings to make something special! Happy crafting!
