Default Structures & Styles - Diamond Top

We'll start off this challenge with the TALL Diamond Top Card

Best way to describe it is to look at my finished sample.
Special thanks to Linda, who supplied most of the embellishments! whoop whoop!

basically a book fold with a lid!

Very cool/different look. folding is bit persnickety, so I would suggest make one out of copy paper first to get the folds down, can be used later as a template to create your panels.

Tall Diamond Top (finished size closed is 7 1/2* x 3 3/4)
Base Card: 5 x 9 1/2 see photo 1 for all scoring/orientation as follows:
- score center fold at 2 1/2" (lengthwise)
- score at 2 1/2 from top (makes diamond top)
- Mark center score at 3 1/4" from top
- Mark outsides (both sides) at 4 1/4" from top
score between markings. (2 score lines meeting in center)

Looking at the INSIDE of your card:
Crease lines as shown in photos 2,3 and 4 - pay attention to mountain vs valleys - I find it easiest to crease center fold, crease diamond top and 'pinch' diagonal score lines into place. Go over everything with a bone folder to flatten. photo 5

All that's left then are the decorations!
This S&S will run through ~ May 10th. April postings count in the April drawing. I'll pop in a few more samples as we go (have tons of ideas!) and will add a SHORT diamond top structure (shorter and wider) next week!

Interesting fold, Lee - I did a quick version on copy paper just to see what it's like, and it's clear I want to get my score lines perfectly positioned or I have bits showing in a way that I don't like. Probably need to score this one with a ruler rather than my score board - at least for the diagonal lines. I'm waiting for inspiration to strike so I know what I want to use to make this one.

yes Cheryl. I passed on the trimmer/scoreboard for the diagonals also. Ruler and scoring tool on a soft surface for those diagonal score lines.

Easy to understand directions Lee...thanks!!! Here's mine. I used the White Truffle paper pack, Birthday Greetings dazzles and the 15 Butterflies & Dragonflies template.

PW Mirage Papers, Hello dazzle, Heartfelt Greetings stamp
Generic lace die, unknown label die, Anna Griffin Poppy EF

Thanks Lee for this design, I actually tried the day of your posting !! Some days are better than others...
I left the inside paper unattached to the front, it was too pretty to glue down!
