Default August Kit - Embossing

Hello all! I've a few days to go over my August kit and am so excited to get started! I have never used embossing paste or done any type of embossing at all. So, need some advice on how to go about this... Such as, what is the best way to do this? Any special tools, such as a heat gun, needed?

Any advice anyone can give will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the message board! There are webisodes at PW that show how to use the embossing paste. Click here to watch one.

Also, if you look at the Weekly Challenge thread you will see that this week's (August Week 4 challenge) is about using embossing paste. Penny has left some good examples to look at.

Since you will see on that post that I have a love/hate relationship with embossing paste that is about all the help I can give you except to say that I don't use a heat gun because it doesn't take too long for the paste to dry and sometimes, if you're not careful, the paste will bubble up.

Enjoy your day,
Daria

Default First Attempts

Here is my first attempt at using embossing paste. I did smudge it on the lower left hand side (there are 3 areas).

You did a great job! I often have little boo boos with my paste too. If possible, I cut the image out or just do some creative embellishing to hide the mistake. I don't think people even notice, they are too busy being thrilled someone took the time to make them a card.

Welcome to the MB, I hope you are able to join in on the swaps and challenges.
