Default August Kit

Very critical here - but first,
LOVE the gothic Halloween dazzles - HATE the papers that pair with it in the kit - anyone else have problems with that? fortunately have some leftovers from a couple of Halloweens ago that will work nicely with these dazzles.

second -
Brown with gold botanicals dazzles - YAWN. seen that 2-3 times before and only my 4th PS dazzle kit.

third -
double sided dazzles, wouldn't buy them independently, BUT do like them for weird materials.... gold glitter works for me, as does mega flakes, etc, etc - looks like they are getting a handle on creating more intricate cuts - first several samples I have were so chunky as to be almost unusable. Liking these Christmas salutations a lot.

fourth -
tons of holographic snowflakes - don't know how you go wrong with that!!! versatile and very pretty addition in just about any project, LOVE having more than plenty repeating snowflakes - and like what they did with the 'outies' in the designs.

thoughts?

Hold on a New York minute! (and no wonder I hate my Halloween patterned papers)!!

reading the newsletter, and I didn't get a sheet of the chevron orange from evans town?... used in the Halloween card... I also didn't get the green dots used in this and another card, something is amiss here at the lodge.

emailing Paulette, RIGHT NOW!!

wasn't sure who get's what, so sent the same to Cust Service AND as a comment for the PS Dazzles:

August kit - something is not at all right!

Halloween card designed by LeNae, I don't have the orange chevron or the green dot patterned papers... the two patterns I rec'd are both dull grays. The green dot pattern was also used in the Merry and Bright Card designed by Gail (neither of my patterns will work in that design, what's up?

I emailed them about the missing papers and they wrote back that they are aware of it and will be more careful in the future. They did not print the evanstown paper and the other missing one. I thought that they would mail the missing papers but they are not going to. They suggested I use colored card stock in place of the missing papers. I was very disappointed in this reply.

wow Kathleen,
I haven't heard back yet, pretty surprised with that response though. They're usually really good with messed up orders, guess on the large scale situation - not so much.

That is disappointing news but it would probably be costly to send out two sheets of 12x12 paper to every member. Maybe they could include those two with next month's kit. I'd be willing to wait.

I'd be happy with that too, Daria. I hope they do that.

Finished a pair of cards (Merry & Bright):

My double sided dazzles kept splitting (which actually made it easier to place )... and I used the two widths of ultra tape to burnish the glitter strips - much easier than burnishing the dazzles I might add. I've got to remember to place newspaper down first, loving the colors in, what I thought was 'gold' glitter. (not really a glitter gal). Shrunk the card size to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Salutation on the inside is the Christmas Cheer stamps set - just wasn't up for more micro fine glitter burnishing. Bwa ha ha.

(Reindeer): Design from huggers webisode, using the same patterns as M&B.

So much still remaining: Haven't quite figured out how to "file" the PS Dazzle materials ?! Keep together/separate- right now I have the (4) months in their own pile, tucked into the instructions... actually thinking I will use a scrapbook and tuck months back to back. Thoughts?

Lee - Love the Reindeer and great job on the other card too! Glad to know that I wasn't the only one having problems with the DS dazzles. My Christmas word fell apart into 4 pieces. Merry in only two. But you are right, they were easier to place that way.

do you think that was by design, Dee (wasn't sure if it was just the merry & bright)? At first I thought, really? Then we both found it much easier to place. Hope so!
