I think I need a lesson here. I know how to make the copies...hehehe...it's the "how do you use them as templates to back dazzles" that I can't seem to get my mind wrapped around. I'm sure if I thought long and hard I would figure it out but I don't have time, energy or the ambition to figure it our right now...

BTW - Love you card Lee!

Lesson:
(1) Highlighted the portion of the dazzle I want to back (just for you, Dee!)
pattern paper cut to fit the area I'm backing.
(2) Pattern on top of paper, snip around - loosy goosy is fine, just stay in between holes you want backed and holes you don't.
(3) can keep putting different patterns behind different areas - will probably pick out the flower in the design to back next......
(4) paper will fit exactly behind the area you're backing with room to spare.

after spending another 1/2 a second thinking about it... I said great for backing portions/areas of a single dazzle... BUT - even better if you are backing the entire dazzle, make the 'back' first with your template - instead of plopping the dazzle on the patterned paper and persnickety trimming around it - especially those dazzles with fancy edgings.

Lee - Thanks so much for the lesson. You make it look so easy. I am going to have to do that for backing the dazzles.

oops... problem:
(5) After you finish it looks SOOOOO GOOD, you'll need to a) redesign your card around it or b) make a scrapbook layout just so it can be an embellishment that lasts 'forever'.
hahaha.

I wld never dream of doing this piece w/out the 'template'.

Did some shuffling last night -
Fix: Debbies Jingle Bell Rock project - these patterns with the mirror red dazzles shouldn't live in the same neighborhood, let alone on a card front.

I thought they would work with the coffee dazzles, adding some choc chip cs (found the design trolling through Nov PS cardmakers videos - when you have simple patterns they're a good resource). Chose the dazzles to keep it on the masculine side.

Same holds true for Debbie's Coffee Card - painted lace border with brown coffee dazzles, yuk and yuk. Not to mention, rotating that card structure?.. and how will it display once rec'd? plop plop of dazzles on the interior. Debbie must be running through a rough patch.

So, my Gate variation - first, I was going to use the border pattern on the outside, BUT this card will display OPEN, so focused attention on the interior. Brushed Gold CStk for the base and a couple of doilies later....
