Default shipping costs?

Has anyone else noticed an increase in PW shipping $$ recently? (yup, I get that if you order $80 it's free). But this morning I was browsing around and had an embellishment bottle () and cosmic shimmer paints in my cart - shipping came to 8.99? ouch. it's like they're competing with SUP.

I pile up a cart of heavy cstk/kits/embellies/mixed media materials/clearance items and get flat rate $8 over at C&C and that comes from multiple suppliers in ENGLAND...... ebay ships super cheap cutting dies from CHINA for free (arrived in 16 days - quicker than a Monday Madness deal).

Seems like it was easier to keep PW s&h to 4.99 in the past - or is it I've just become a savvy on-line buyer?

If I try to get my PW cart to 80, there are always things in my list that are out-of-stock - can't order separate/later since the s&h comes back into play... what do yo'all think/have you noticed a hike lately? Just bugs me to use over half my GC on shipping.

I have noticed a hike too. With finances being severely limited lately for me, I find myself really questioning if I need an item or not before buying.

I haven't noticed that the s&h has gone up but I have always thought it was too high. That's why I usually buy when I have enough for free shipping. So, to take advantage of the daily deals I need to have a lot in my wish list. Right now there isn't all that much so I won't be buying anything any time soon. It has to be something really fantastic that even with s&h it's still a great deal before I will pay for shipping.

I don't usually buy much here. Have used the book and ordered by mail but the shipping and handling seem to be high and just don't want to waste it on that. Would rather get something local then waste the money. I have use our credit card but still hate to do that since it is already hight, lol. There are lots of things i would love to get but don't really need.

Lee, I think the $4.99 now starts at $6.99, so then it rapidly gets to $8.99 when ounces go up, or width/length/girth goes up. Yes I noticed it on my order last week. So I do think they had a recent increase.

I ship USPS for a ministry I work for, and we had to take an increase in November due to USPS raising ALL commercial pricing, and eliminating some of our packaging options which forces us to pay more for larger boxes.

I usually wait til I can order $80.00 worth of goodies. I like the flat rate shipping from C&C. That way I can order several things all for one shipping fee. Every thing seems to be going up. I have an order going in next month. Judi
