Default Digitally confused

I am sort of perplexed by the digital stamps. I primarily color with SN pens when I stamp. I would be interested in buying and playing with some of the digital stamps but I don't know if that would work with my Cannon Pixma MP 980 printer's ink. I know that there are some skilled computer people in this group. Can you help me?

You shouldn't have any problem printing the images, but it's hard to say how the ink will react with the sn pens. I know that some people have had pretty good results by heat setting the ink with a heat gun first. I have also heard that microwaving it for about 10 seconds will set the ink, but I've never tried that.

By the way, I just tested microwaving my printed images for 10 seconds and it works very well for HP ink. After microwaving, there were no smudges at all when coloring with SN pens. There were before.

Unman I've never tried the microwave trick - I'll have to try that. I have been able to successfully Colorado with alcohol inkstand if I'm very careful and let the ink bleed to the edge of the design and don't fill in right to the edge. Or you can always use Dolores pencils or watercolors with digital stamps as well!

So so sooooo funny on this end albeit frustrating on yours! Thanks for all the help Judy. I just purchased the Silhouette Cameo for a steal on black Friday. I'm so excited to print, color, sketch, and cut everything! Now I need to win the lottery and get some of those digital stamps from PW.

Let us know how the Cameo works out. I had my eye on both the Cameo and the eCraft. I ended up buying the eCraft but I think if I had it to do over I would have paid the extra money and gotten a Cameo. It does more.

As for digital stamps, they are very inexpensive and there's no shipping to pay. There are also several sites that have free samples (just do a Google search for, "free digital stamps), so you could start with those just to see how well they work.

I just got the Cameo and love it so far. The only thing I've had a problem with is the mats are EXTREMELY sticky. They have actually started offering another mat that is less sticky -I just ordered one and will see how it goes. I tried running some glitter paper through to see how it would cut and it did fine but when I tried to pull the paper off half of it stuck to the board and I have had to scrape and scrape to get that thin layer of paper off the mat. Fortunately it is so sticky that it still holds regular cardstock even with the residue of the other paper on there! The other thing I've learner is that it will cut very very intricate designs and very small designs but you have to be careful not to cut too tiny or thin lines because you have difficulty removing them from the mat without tearing or twisting.
