Default January-2014 WEEK ONE Challenge (DUE 1/4/14)

Time for the first challenge of the new year, woohoo!

We're going to start the new year out with a sketch challenge, again courtesy of Becky Fleck at PageMaps. This one is from the "December 2013 Remix" CardMaps challenges, and I've posted both the sketch and the example card made by a CardMaps design team member. You do not have to have a heart as your center focal - another shape could be used, but the rest of the sketch should be followed!

As always, please use primarily Paper Wishes product in creating your card, l/o, ATC, tag or other papercraft project using this sketch.

To be eligible for the January PW gift certificate drawing, a picture of your completed project needs to be posted here not later than midnight U.S. Eastern time on Saturday, January 4, 2013. You may try the challenge any time and post your project but those posted after the deadline won't be included in the drawing!

Here are the sketch and the example:

Default January 2014 Week 1 Challenge

Here is my quick take on the sketch. I used mocha ripple and steampunk papers, scraps of craft paper, steampunk papier tole, porcelain suede paper, nail heads and smaller metal stickers from same mfr, masculine collage and happy patterns stamps, and I used fudge surfacz ink.

Thanks for looking.

Great job, Linda! How do you like the new surface ink? Is it as good as Staz-on?

Great job, Jackie! You combined a lot of PP - that's a very hard thing for me!

Oh, I like both of the cards shown. I have got to get some creativity - or just ambition - going and get some cards made.

Default Jan. 2014 Wk 1 Challenge

I finally got inspired today and completed this first weeks' challenge. I used the Roses In Harmony paper pack, the 6 Layered Labels & Swirls die, the 5 Hearts die, the heart doily was backed with HOTP Azalea Suede paper. The front sentiments are from Tiny Words & Images (2008) stamped with Color Box Pink Sky chalk ink. The pearls are from Queen.
