I have been working on these detective journals I am making for the kids in my Religious Ed class. They are so anxious to get them! They are pretty cool, if I do say so myself. My husband thinks I am crazy for putting so much time into them, though.

Hubbies often don't seem to "get it" when it comes to crafting. I'm going to bet that making them brings great satisfaction to you as opposed to just buying a $1 notebook and being done.

It's hard for me not to see a notebook and think "that should really be altered!" Lots of people don't understand that!

I resolved to use what I own, but first I had to find and organize what I own! So last week I got all of my printed papers and card stocks in order. Then on Sunday, I made a spreadsheet complete with photos of all of my acrylic stamp sets, which is mostly what I own. Today, snow everywhere from yesterday's storm so I am tackling the CARD PILE. I have gathered as many of my unsent cards together and plan to organize them by type, and make a sub pile of those that need to be completed. I will be better able to complete them, because I will know what category of card I am low on. Then I will pick cards to send to all known occasions for this year and put them at my bill paying desk. The others I will store in a big clear tub with a lid, by category, so I can pull out a card when I hear of someone who could use a pick up. That is, after all, how I got started making them!

Wish me luck. This is what I am starting with...

Linda, I love the journals and I'm sure the kids will too. Things like that really capture their attention.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a stockpile of unsent cards! I always intend to send them, then don't. I need to get organized too!

As for inventorying supplies, I'm working on a picture inventory of my craft supplies. So far I have all my PW stamp sets and templates entered. It's really cool because all I have to do to get stuff in is scan the product barcode. It also has a field for location, so I can enter exactly where things are. Here are some screen shots.

I'm jealous Judy! My stamp inventory took waaaayyy more time. I didn't consider myself behind the times, but I guess I am!

Awesome Judy! If that was an app, I bet you could sell it!
