Default March Week 3 Technique Challenge - due 3/22/14

Another easy one this month as I still am not quite up to pulling out all my supplies! Let's do some scoring this week to make a shabby-chic background. I've attached 2 samples. Now to make them into a completed card. I think some of the chalkboard elements will look nice since I used black cat stock with light ink highlighting the scoring.

Well! I'm going to have to send the pictures over to my computer. I was hoping I could do this all in my phone. Not happening! I'll add to this thread shortly with the pictures!

Looking forward to seeing the examples. Have never done this before so not quite sure what you mean. But always willing to learn new things.

Ok - sorry folks - here are the pictures. I did this on black cardstock, but you can do it on anything. And I inked over the scoring but you don't need to do that either. The idea is to use the scoring as a design element and not just as a line where you are planning to fold something.

Nancy, what an amazing effect scoring has as a design element. I never thought of using as such. Looking forward to seeing how the members use it. Judi

I am out for the rest of the month for these weekly challenges, but will be back in April. I am just bogged down with some volunteer work that peaks over the next 12 days. Plus, I have to leave time for my ATC's . I will, however, be peaking in to see how others handle this challenge.

You must USE the technique to make a card or other papercrafting project...at least to have your entry counted for the gift certificate drawing!!!

Default March Wk 3 Tech Challenge

Well, this was a new technique for me, but it was different and I think it turned out ok. I needed an anniversary card next week for friends so thought I'd give this a try. I kept the inside blank so I could write my own message.
I used:
Stationary Noted PP
Stationary Noted die-cut borders
Stationary Noted decorative buttons
Bodacious Blooms cutting die
Heart cutting die (from Happy Birthday set)
6 Layered Labels cutting die
Tiny Words stamp set
Victorian Velvet Distress Ink

What a great card. I love the colors and the layout. I know this is new for me too and I plan on spending some time today experimenting. Very busy week so I haven't had a chance to do anything yet...but stayed tuned. I should have something by the end of the day, I think. Depends how well this works for me.
