Default What would you Include?

Hey Y'all... my granddaughter is about to move to NC to be with her hubby who is in the Military. She has expressed a desire to learn to craft. Since she and the baby will have time on their hands, I thought I might get together a kit with some crafting tools she could start with. Hopefully I will have enough from my own stash to fix her up. To start I am letting her have my Cricut Expression and some cartridges. But I would like to round out that with some tools etc that she may need to just do general crafts.
Could y'all weigh in on what you would include in this kit?
Keep in mind she is a very basic newbie.
Thanks so much.
God bless
Nyoka

Paper, cardstock, glue (or whatever type of sticky tape you might have), scissors, some stamps and ink, if you have a book to show what to do or some sketches to help out. A bone folder comes in handy, a paper cutter and I love my score buddy. I'm sure there are more.

A good paper cutter, a Xyron sticker maker (its great for gluing flat ribbon), Zots, a nice storage bin to put all of her goodies in for the move, a good ruler, craft knife, some Dazzles. I was wondering if she'd like to learn more than one craft. Crocheting or counted cross stitch is good for a few quiet moments of crafting. Judi

Most things are already listed but how about a pack of blank cards as nd envelopes. And some colored pens or markers for journaling or doodling.

I just did this for a girlfriend's daughter...it was intended strictly for papercrafting, so I put in: paper trimmer, a bunch of 'freebie' clear stamps (from magazines, etc.); a Versamark black ink pad, bone folder, stamp block, a small scrapbook kit-in-a-box, some markers, some Glue Dots, an adhesive snail & refill, some assorted embellishments (flowers, enamel dots, buttons), a bunch of scrapbook PP and cardstock, and a pack of card/envelope blanks, a few cardmaking/scrapbooking past magazine issues.

Wow! Thanks ladies! I knew I could count on y'all to make great suggestions! I think I will start her off small as she is not a very patient person and wouldn't be able to sit still for great lengths of time to craft ( like for scrapbooking) She has developed an interest in the vinyl cutting with the Cricut. She and her cousin have been making some things... so I will make a list of all your suggestions and go from there!!!
God bless
