Default Repurposed Boot Box

My very DH (dear husband) is a collector. If he goes somewhere, he brings home stuff and he wants to keep it. He is part of the reason I am a scrapbooker... Self defense! Well, he is a golfer and he has been keeping golf course scrap in 3 different places. I only found out about this while we were on a de cluttering mission and he carried a large stack of boxes and stuff to me and asked where would be a good place to keep it? I pulled out a boot box from last Christmas, kept in case we needed it for something, and said put it in here. "If it fits, I will decorate the box and you will have one storage place for all of it". So, I spent way too much time working on this box, but I finished it for his birthday yesterday and gave it to him. He was thrilled! Turns out I used a LOT of supplies and techniques on this box, much if which is PW.

I used about 6 colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks, esp Walnut stain and gathered Twigs. I used Faber Castell Gel Medium & Gesso. Mod Podge original glossy, patterned paper from PW (stone pattern and Leather look pattern), Washi Tape on small dividers from PW; patterned paper from SEI Yesteryear, Creative Memories Greens, and American Crafts Golf, Thickers letters from MME I think.

But I built the inserts and covered all parts of the box, including reinforcing the sides, front and bottom. I was inspired to do the collating and mosaic/stone work after watching this amazing tutorial by Vicky Pompianu (because ai love her accent) http://www.clips-n-cuts.com/2014/08/...get-lost-book/

I kept collating because I didn't have enough paper otherwise... Anyway, DH was thrilled with his box, and my organization of his chaotic collection that allows lots of room to grow. I got to play with supplies, techniques, and my stash. And it only took me 2 hours to clean up my craft area this morning!

Way cool! Aren't some of us lucky that have family that love our projects? He'll probably smile and think of you making this for him every time he opens it, Linda.
