Default new products?

Somewhere I heard Paulette say there were some new things coming out in July. Did anyone else hear that? I just heard that some of the things in the PS kits were not going to be released until September. I am seriously itching for new and interesting things to play with. Right now I'm making a million cards with the Robin's Red paper pack for my family who helped with the Memorial bash for my Mom a couple weeks ago. I really like that teal, white, and red combo. Anyone else itching to add new things to their stash too? Happy Summer!

I'm always ready for new stuff but I don't remember Paulette saying anything.

There was an embossing folder that had a postmark and flowers coming out in September. Don't remember any July references. Loved the webisode today though. DVD looks fantastic for getting me going with m/m

Default Jesso and mixed media

I see something called gesso or jesso used a lot with mixed media on Youtube. I wonder if anyone here uses it with their m/m projects? If so...what the heck is that stuff and what are we supposed to do with it and why? What effect will it have? I would love to learn more!

I took oil painting classes, years & years & years ago.....We stretched our canvas and painted the gesso onto the canvas before painting with our oils. Maybe it's like a sealing-wax??? I will have to google it.

I've used in painting also. I'm addict to Bob Ross's show on PBS. He uses it to prepare the canvas for painting. It helps the paint to spread easier or so it did for me. Its great for a base coat. Judi

I use it for mixed media to help prepare surfaces. It is intended, I believe, for canvases for painting. I use it on canvas, burlap and sometimes on paper if I am trying to cover things up. I don't think It is always necessary, though for paper crafting.

There was a program that used to be on PBS here that was called Scrapbook Soup and the woman is was hosting used it on paper ALL the time before she did anything most of the time. Hmmm... maybe I will just have to experiment .
