Default November Design Challenge

"Less Is More"

Welcome to November! You all did a fantastic job creating some amazing uniquely shaped/folded cards last month. Very impressive! This month, I have a great challenge in mind that is slightly out of the norm.

I’ve called it “Less Is More” because your challenge this month is to create a coordinating set of 4 cards that all have a “minimalist” look! “Minimalist” can mean different things to different people, so choose your own medium/technique based upon the look you want. The four cards should not be identical, but should share a common theme. Overall, your card set should have a clean and deliberate feel. Let’s do either Christmas cards or Thank You cards!

I have included a sketch for inspiration – interpret the sketch to work for your cards (and definitely eliminate sketch elements if you choose) or just skip it altogether and use your own layout! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with, and feel free to post any questions you might have!

Some Basic Rules:

1. Everyone is welcome to participate in our challenge! These challenges are meant to be fun and inspire creativity. Measurements aren’t provided, because we want you to have some creative freedom! Feel free to create a card, a scrapbook page, or your other favorite paper craft project!

2. Please use primarily Hot Off The Press materials (such as Dazzles™, papers, stamps, templates, artful card kits, embossing folders, cutting dies and paper tole). Embellishments and accents, including glitter, flowers, ribbons, etc. aren’t required to be exclusively from Paper Wishes™.

3. You can enter more then once.

4. Please list your products for us. It lets us know what you like, and lets others know what you've used so they can make their own inspired version. We understand that we all have things in our craft stashes that may no longer have the original packaging. Please choose your products accordingly, and keep in mind that the list of products is required. We want to be fair to those that do list all of their products.

The monthly winner will receive a $15.00 gift certificate to Paper Wishes, and will have their project featured in our Paper Wishes Blog!

Post your project by:
Sunday, November 30th, 2014

Projects entered after the date will not be eligible for the contest.

Winner will be announced:
Monday, December 1st, 2014

Default November design challenge

Here are my four cards. For each one I used:
-Cardmakers Christmas Creative pack
-Christmas greetings stamps
-20 luscious Christmas labels
-Pastel brad pack
-Christmas lace double-sided paper pack

Except for card #4, where I did not use the Christmas lace papers, but instead used the gold glimmer paper from one of the old books (I think the masculine papers) for the poinsettia. The poinsettia is one of the spellbinder dies that PW does not carry.

Very nice as well, Daria. You must have today off? Love the color scheme you used. I was hoping for mustard yellow and gray though! LOL Very pretty, I love Simply Susan stamps and don't use them nearly enough.
