Smile Jan 2015 kit swap

Many of you have asked to do this swap again and here it is!

Pictures from May 2013 swap are here and the thread with the January 2014 cards is here.

We'll leave this open for sign up until Feb 5, then I'll assign partners. To sign up, please reply in this thread, do not PM swaps albums.

If you want to get a head start you can, here's our "recipe"

1. 5x6 1/2 card blank with envelope
2. 2 patterned papers 5x6 1/2"
3. 1 patterned paper 5x5
4. 18" ribbon/fiber/twine (your choice)
5. 1 focal point and sentiment. Focal point can be a stamped image,
flower, brad buddy, etc. Leave enough room around focal and
sentiment so the recipient can trim them how they wish.
6. 4 embellishments (Dazzles, bling, brads, eyelets, little flowers, etc.), you don't have to use all 4, but must include at least one on your finished project.

Notes:
-make up 2 kits following the recipe, both kits must be identical
-paper can be double sided, it will certainly give your partner more choices
-If you are sending an image, please do not color it, your recipient will color it, or not, as they choose.
-Since PW now has digital products, you can use those, but you will need to print out whatever you choose for your partner and also include the rest of the "recipe".
-you may use your dies to create your card design; however your partner's kit should not include any of those die cuts - just be sure to leave enough room around the focal/sentiment for die cutting. One exception and I hope this is not confusing: i.e. if you have die cut a flower as the focal (perhaps the PW flower die) and wish to include a die cut leaf as an embellishment that is allowed.
-Do not post a picture of your kit, just the completed card.
-Please do not post your card until the person you sent your kit to posts a picture of their card in this thread.

Each person needs to make a card using all the elements sent as outlined above. The only addition you can make to your kit is one color of cardstock for your design.

Below are samples I made. The 1st picture shows the kit, remember, you do not need to post a pic of your kit. The 2nd picture I added red cardstock and used 3 of the 4 white brads. In the 3rd picture, my swap "partner" added gray cardstock and used all 4 of the white brads sent as embellishments. In both of the cards the focal was die cut in different ways.

Any questions, let me know. I'm so excited to play. If anyone would like to "sign up twice", that is do the whole process again with a different partner, using the same deadlines, that would be fine too, just let me know in this thread.

As with all MB swaps we need at least 5 different people to sign up to play. Hot Off the Press sponsors this message board so please, as much as possible, use products that are available from the Paper Wishes website.

DUE DATES:
Sign-ups: February 5
Mail kit to partner: February 20
Partners post completed cards in this thread: March 10 (as mail service permits, if mail service permits )

SWAP PARTNERS
As always send to the person next on the list. Last person on list sends to first person.

Penny I re-read the original post twice and couldn't see WHEN these would be due?? I know you said sign ups end Feb 5 but when would the project be due? Trying to see if I want to join.. I have some projects going and don't know if I can make the time limit.
Thanks
God bless

The only due dates right now is the sign ups. Most of our swaps give a month and that was what I was planning. I don't want to confuse the due date with the monthly swap, so the due dates are as follows:

Sign-ups: February 5
Mail kit to partner: February 20 Partners post completed cards in this thread: March 10 (as mail service permits, if mail service permits )

This is not a big commitment of time, at least I don't think so. I would guess it would be the equivalent of 2 monthly swaps. In fact, as I put in the original post, if you want to participate you can make up your kits now as well as your card. Then you will only have to create your card when your partner sends your kit.

I'll put the due dates in the original post as well. LET'S PLAY!
