This gorgeous candle makes a perfect decorative piece—keep it
for yourself or give it as a gift to someone special.
Decorating your own candles is easy—all you need is an embossing
tool and stamping supplies. Be careful not to heat the wax for too long;
you want to soften it, not melt it!
Instructions:
- Place the candle in the center of the towel. Ink Baroque Border with
red ink. Use the embossing heat tool on a 2"x4" section along
the bottom edge for 5–10 seconds to prepare the wax without melting
it. When the wax turns cloudy, quickly stamp Baroque Border into the
warm wax, slightly rolling it along the cylindrical shape and allow
it to set for 1–2 seconds. Repeat the process for the next section
and continue until the base of the candle is covered.
- Turn the candle upside down and repeat the stamping process to form
a stamped border along the top edge.
- Dab foam sponge into the red ink then dab it along the top and bottom
edge of the candle (the more ink you apply, the darker the effect);
let dry. Randomly sponge gold ink along the top and bottom edges, changing
the angle of the stamping to create a random effect, then carefully
heat set, making sure not to melt the wax.
- Cut a 24" length of each color floss. Wrap the lengths around
the center of the candle so they crisscross in the center and knot to
secure. Thread an amber bead onto each red floss tail and knot to secure.
Repeat with each red bead on the gold floss tails. Trim each tail to
11⁄2"–2".
