Instructions

For the Front of the Card:

  1. Position the card with the fold on the left. Cover the card front with black cardstock, leaving the left and right bottom edges unglued. Cut a 4 7/8”x6 3/8” piece of cork patterned paper, ink the edges black and glue centered on the card front.
  2. Use a StazOn ink pad to ink the edges of the vinyl tag black; let dry. Cut one 3” length each of black grosgrain, black/ivory gingham and taupe/ivory stripe ribbon and trim the tails of each at an angle. Fold each length of ribbon in half and secure the folded ends down the top left side of the vinyl tag with silver mini brads, using a 1/16” hole punch to create holes in the folded ribbon and the vinyl tag to insert the brads. Dab a small amount of glue stick behind the dark printed words on the vinyl tag (since the vinyl tag is translucent, the printing will help to cover up the appearance of adhesive), then secure the tag centered 7/16” from the top edge of the card.
  3. Cut one 6” length each of black/ivory gingham and black grosgrain ribbon. Lay the lengths at opposite diagonal angles across the bottom of the card, intersecting in the middle and overlapping the bottom of the vinyl tag. Wrap the end of each length around the edges of the black cardstock and adhere to the back, then add one silver mini brad to each end of the ribbon lengths. Secure the left and right edges of the cardstock onto the card front.
  4. Cut out the “Happy Birthday” word fragment and cut it into two pieces so you have one “Happy” fragment and one “Birthday” fragment. Glue the “Happy” fragment above the “Birthday” fragment in the bottom right corner of the card front, as shown.

For the Inside of the Card:

  1. Cut a 3” wide strip of cork patterned paper and ink the edges black. Glue centered down inside of the card, then trim the excess paper even with the top and bottom edges of the card and ink the top and bottom edges of the cork paper.
  2. Cut out the “Celebrate” and “It’s your day!” word fragments and glue them at varying angles over the cork paper strip, as shown.
