Layers of patterned papers and embellishments make this Thank You card a joy to give–and to receive!

Supplies:

• Cardmaker's™ Earth Tones Creative Pack: Brown burlap, brown scratches and brown leaves

• one 5"x6 1/2" card from Cardmaker's™ Blank Cards and Envelopes
• Scotch® Brand Foam Mounting Tape
• Glue Dots™

Instructions

1. With the fold at the left, trim the card front to 4 1/4” wide by cutting off 3/4” from the right side. Cut a 1/2”x6 1/2” piece of brown burlap paper and glue it vertically down the card front, aligning it with the fold. Cut a 3/4”x6 1/2” piece of brown scratches paper and tear it along one long side, then glue it to the card front with the torn side overlapping the burlap paper strip. Cut a 3 3/4”x6 1/2” piece of brown leaves paper and glue it to the card front, even with the right edge and overlapping the brown scratches paper.
2. Cut out the label and attach it to the card front as shown with an antique brad on each end. Outline the label with a black pen.
3. Cover two slide mounts (see below for instructions) with brown scratches paper. Cut out the quotes and glue the “thank you” and “brightens my world in countless ways” quotes behind the slide mounts as shown. Mat the “your spirit of genuine giving” quote on brown burlap paper and trim the mat to 1/8”. Mat again on brown scratches paper and trim the mat to 1/16”. Chalk the safety pins with brown and the quotes and label with butterscotch.
4. Cut out the “with love” and “dear friend” word fragments, then cut them apart into four separate words. Attach the word fragments to the slide mounts using foam mounting tape. Cut two strips of dark brown ribbon and tie them into knots. Using Glue Dots™, attach the ribbons to the slide mounts as shown.

For the Card Inside:

1. Cut a 5”x6 1/2” piece of brown scratches paper and glue it to the inside of the card. Cut a 2 3/8”x6 1/2” piece of brown leaves paper and glue it on top of the brown scratches paper, 3/4” in from the fold.
2. Cut out the “heartfelt thanks” word fragment and mat it on brown burlap paper with foam mounting tape. Trim the mat to 1/16”. Glue the matted fragment to the card inside, then outline it with a black pen.

Step.1

Apply glue to the front of the slide mount and place the slide mount face down on the back of the paper. Trim the paper even with the edges of the slide mount.

Step.2

Place the slide mount paper side down on a cutting mat, then use an X-acto® knife to cut an “X” in the paper in the center of the slide mount.
