Designer Tip: Lush florals, rich red tones and easy distressing techniques lend charm to this vintage-style layout. Pre-coordinated papers and embellishments make it super simple to achieve this look!

Instructions

  1. Use the pink texture with floral border paper as the background, with the border running along the bottom edge. Holding the paper in your left hand, tear off the top right corner of the paper by pulling the paper toward you with your right hand (by pulling the paper toward you, you will create a white edge along the torn edge). Cut a square of burgundy words paper and glue it behind the torn edge to complete the 12”x12” background. Using the same technique, tear small “v” shapes from the left and right edges of the paper, as shown, and back with burgundy words paper.
  2. Mat a vertical photo on red glimmer paper, trim the mat to 3/16” and ink the edges black. Mat again on white cardstock, trim the mat to 1/16” and ink the edges. Glue the matted photo 1 1/4” from the left edge and 1 1/2” from the top edge of the page. Add one white mini brad to both top corners and the bottom right corner of the photo.
  3. Cut out the small floral tag and use foam tape to secure it at an angle in the bottom left corner of the photo. Run a thin strip of red glimmer paper through the holes on one medium and one small white button (one 5/8” and one 7/16” button), then use Glue Dots™ to secure the buttons on the tag. Tie a 7” length of burgundy grosgrain ribbon into a shoestring bow and use a Glue Dot™ to attach the bow to the top of the tag.
  4. Mat a second vertical photo on red glimmer paper, trim the mat to 1/16” and ink the edges. Mat again on white cardstock, trim the mat to 3/16” and ink the edges. Glue the matted photo 1” from both the right edge and the top edge of the page.
  5. Cut out the pink textured label and add one burgundy brad to each end. Computer journal onto white cardstock and tear around the edges so the journaling is smaller than the label. Accent the torn edges of the journaling with red chalk, then glue the journaling on the pink textured label. Use foam tape to secure the label under the second photo, overlapping the bottom edge.
