Two-Gether — By: LeNae Gerig

Supplies:

Designer Tip: Laura's holiday layout is perfect for winter portraits. She used a well-known Christmas carol as her journaling block, then fashioned creative holly bunches out of torn paper and Button Brads!

Instructions

  1. Cut a 12"x7 1/4" piece of green floral/bird paper, including the flying bird silhouette in the bottom right corner. Place the paper on a cutting mat and use a craft knife to cut around the top edges of the bird. Ink the top and bottom edges of the paper brown, then glue it 1" from the top of a sheet of pink dotted paper (without applying glue behind the cut edges of the bird silhouette).
  2. Mat a 9"x6" photo on brown cardstock and trim to 1/8". Glue the photo to the right side of the green paper, tucking the bottom edge under the cut edges of the bird silhouette.
  3. Glue a 5" length of sheer dotted ribbon and a 6" length of lace ribbon down the right side of the photo. Run embroidery floss through the holes on two pink and green buttons, knotting the ends on the back side. Zot™ one button to the top of each ribbon length.
  4. Computer journal the date and the subjects' names separately on white cardstock. Ink the edges of each brown, then foam tape them in the top left corner of the green paper. Run embroidery floss through two pink buttons. Zot™ a small white silk flower, one threaded pink button and an unthreaded green button in the top left corner of the green paper. Zot™ the remaining threaded button in the center of the flower.
  5. Punch out green monograms to spell “two”. Place the monograms on a work surfaces and stamp swirls over them in white, running off the edges of the letters. Once the ink is dry, mat each letter on white cardstock. Tie dotted sheer ribbon around the right side of the “W”, then glue the letters across the bottom of the page. Stamp a swirl in the bottom left corner of the page.
  6. Computer journal “Gether” on white cardstock and in the edges. Mat the top and bottom edges on striped paper and trim to 1/8". Add a pink and green mini brad to the top right corner of the journaling, then glue it overlapping the “O” in “two”.
