Tip of the Day

Day 2: For festive gift presentation, try stamping white tissue paper to place inside a Sara’s Surfaces Box. (We recommend a Staz-On inkpad for quick drying time.)

very cute, endless possibilities. They are very hard to push so make sure you are ready for a workout. They are great embellishment though.

Pretty punched flowers. Add a bouquet of pretty flowers to any project with this easy-to-use punch from McGill! Featuring six shapes in one, you'll have three different flower shapes and three smaller shapes to be used on their own or layered in the flower centers. And you can layer the larger punched flowers, too! Large flowers measure 1" and small centers measure 3/8". Simply slip your choice of paper or cardstock into the slot on the side of the punch, then press down on top to punch all six shapes. And if you ever start to notice your punch becoming dull, just punch a few shapes out of aluminum foil to sharpen.

Response from Sara:

Hi Jenni,

Thanks for your comment...I also love this punch! I talked with Susan about ways to make punching less of a workout (unless you want the workout!) and she shared these tips:
The punch works great on standard-weight scrapbook paper, but it's much harder on cardstock. If you want to use these punches with cardstock, make sure you have your punch on a sturdy table and stand up when using it, so you have that extra leverage. Place both hands on it (one hand over the other) to get the best pressure. If the punch is dull and won’t work well with regular papers, aluminum foil does help to sharpen it, and waxed paper might also work.
Hope this helps, and enjoy your punch!
