A must for cardmakers! This versatile tool from Crafters Companion lets you create envelopes in 9 different sizes. Simply place your paper on the acrylic board, determine your envelope size, score, turn and repeat on all four sides of your paper. Fold it up and glue to secure. Its easy!

Envelope sizes include:

  • A 1/2 US letter size - 8 1/2"x5 1/2" (start with an 11 1/4 square of paper)
  • A 1/4 US letter size - 5 1/2"x4 1/4 (start with an 8 1/4 square of paper)
  • A 1/3 US letter size tri-fold - 8 1/2"x3 2/3" (start with a 10 square of paper)
  • 1/2 depth tri-fold (start with 6 3/4 square of paper)
  • 6 square (start with a 9 5/8 square of paper)
  • 4 square (start with a 7 square of paper)
  • 8 1/2x3 Slimline (start with a 9 square of paper)
  • 5 1/2x3Short Slimline (start with a 7 square of paper)
  • 3 1/2x2 1/2 ATC size (start with a 5 1/2 square of paper)

You can make standard size envelopes, mini envelopes and dimensional envelo-boxes, perfect for those 3-D cards with embellishments. Youll also have 4 embossing patterns to make decorative accents on your envelope flaps. Set includes a scoring tool plus complete instructions. Works well with all types of papers; including patterned paper, cardstock, glimmer paper and vellum.

Comment:  I made every size and then tried other sizes of paper on my own just to see what would happen. I found a couple tricks I plan to use. I decorated the points of the flaps and had fun with it. Both upside down and right side up. I used cardstock, but it just doesn't fold nicely. It needs to be a thinner kind of paper. I think regular scrapbooking paper will be the ticket, but I haven't tried it yet. On the really long narrow size I found the flap wrapped down to far and the tip of the envelope was too long. So I just continued to wrap it around the envelope. With the embosed point it looks really cool. I love this new idea.

Comment:  For a long time I have been looking for a tool to make my own envelopes. When I saw this in your add I orered it immediatley. I love this tool!! It is so easy to use and I love that you can make so many different sizes. I shared this with my Sister-in-law who shares my love of crafts and she loved it also. Comment:  What fun!!! I love this thing! How elegant to be able to make an envelope, then use the leftovers to decorate the card! I like to make cards that are 4!/2 by 6 1/2 (an A6 card). I make a "mistake" using paper that's 8 1/2 square -- and it worked on the first try! Lucky me!!!

Comment:  I love this tool! I made several envelopes and boxes as soon as I got it. I especially like the boxes because my cards tend to be lumpy. They come out perfect every time and now they match my cards. The sizes listed don't really descripe the envelope size well. For instance the 1/4 standard size (not very meaningful to me)was exactly what I wanted but I had to make it first before realizing that a 4x6 card fits perfectly. A couple of improvements might be to have the directions printed directly onto the backside of the tool and attached the embosser tool or create a little pocket/drawer (again on the back) so it won't get lost. This would make travelling so much easier and compact. I placed a bit of Velcro on my embosser and taped a photocopied version of the direction sizes directly to the back. I can still refer to the full size directions if needed. This is my new favorite ever tool. FANTASTIC !! Thank you

Yes, the Enveloper does make an envelope to fit a 4"x6" card. You'll start with an 8 1/8" square piece of paper and score lines C and F.

Comment:  I've had the Enveloper for many months and used it several times for cards I've made that aren't the typical size. I especially used it to make envelopes for 2-pocket gift card holders last Christmas. It's really easy to figure out and I love that I can use my pretty paper to match my cards.

Thanks for posting your question!

You'd asked if you have to use a 12"x12" paper for all envelope sizes. The answer is no, you dontthe largest envelope size is a 1/2 US letter size (or standard size) and it requires an 11 square of paper, but the smaller sizes use a smaller size paperfor example, if youre making the Short Slimline (which measures 5 1/2x3) youll start with a 7 square of paper. The ATC size (the smallest) uses a 5 square of paper. All of this information is in the packaging on the tool, too.

Hi Agnes,

I assum you mean adhesive to seal the flap once the card is inside, right? In that case, Id probably place 2-3 pieces of double-sided tape on the flaps, keeping the liner on the tape. Then, once your customer has signed and inserted the card in the envelope, he or she can just peel off the tape liner and seal the envelope.

Another thing you might want to do is include a sticker (on its liner) that the customer could simply peel off and use to secure the flap.

You're right--we should have included information on the envelope sizes on our website. Thanks to your question, we'll change the product page on our website to show the sizes.

In the meantime, the 9 sizes you can make are:

A US letter size
A US letter size
A 1/3 US letter size (a trifold)
1/2 depth tri-fold
6 square
4 square
Slimline (8 x3)
Short Slimline (5 x3)
An ATC size (3 x2 )
