Easy handmade ornaments and jewelry! Microscope slide projects are faster and easier with new memory glass frames! Just create your own 1.5" square double-sided collage with your favorite papers, small photos, sentiments and flat embellishments, then slip it into the frame. Its easy: The frame opens at the top right corner, where youll see a small tab. Gently lift up the tab, then open the frame wide enough to place your microscope slide collage inside. Close the frame, replacing the tab through the slot at the top right. Burnish the tab down by rubbing it with a bone folder or the edge of your scissor handle.

Run a chain or ribbon length through the hole at the top of the frame to turn your latest creation into a stylish necklace, holiday ornament or unique, personalized gift tag! Three 1.5x1.5" frames per pack.

Comment:  I am using these mini frames to hold my hand embroidered flower pendants. Perfect size to hang from a velvet cord. I had to purchase bails to use with the frames in order for them to hang properly from the premade velvet cords, but that was okay. I could have also knotted silk cord around the loop, but liked the velvet cord look better. I bought a quanity of these in 2 x 2 (too large) and 1 x 3 (okay I guess) but the 1.5 x 1.5 is perfect. If you carried these in gold tone also it would really make my day! I also purchased the 1 x 1 with two loops and will be using these with long strings of beads for a statement piece look. Just designed red poppy embroidered flowers to insert in the frames, along with red bamboo coral beads, that drape from the bottom loops. Very spring and summer look.

Comment:  This was something new for me. I love the idea, for me this size was too large for a pendant, once i saw them.

I think I will try the smaller sizes next time. I did not like the hook for this design either. I had to go online to figure out what was expected to do because the written instructions were a little hazy. I just wondered burnish what?

Thanks for posting about your Memory Glass Frames from Paper Wishes. I agree, the instructions for burnishing the tab to close the frame are a little hazy--so based on your comment, we're adding a bit more information to our website. Thanks!

Also, if you thought the 1.5x1.5 size was too big for a pendant, you might instead look at the Patera pendants in Paper Wishes. Theyre smaller and come in different finishes and theyre lovely! You just cut or punch a photo or piece of paper to fit the pendant, then set it with Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents.

In the meantime, if you feel the microscope frames are too big to wear, you might instead use them as ornaments or to tie onto a gift package. I do that a lotmake a collage or insert a photo or a monogram for the gift recipient, then tie it on the gift. Its kind of to replace the to and from gift tag with something more special.
