Comment:  All of the Baker's Twine is great. When you're looking for something to add to your project, but you don't want fancy ribbons and etc., this twine is just right. Please keep them in stock for a long time; and let us be thrilled with each color.

Comment:  In the 1940's and early 50's, my grandfather and I used to walk to the corner store when the bread came in. People didn't use packing tape much in those days - everything was tied closed with twine or string. The bread came packed in cardboard boxes tied closed with this pretty string.
Grandpa and I were allowed to pick up all we wanted as the grocer just cut it off the boxes.

What colors would there be! We started a ball of it: white and red, white and green, white and blue, and occasionally red and black, or all black - what a special find. The last time I remember seeing that ball, it was over 15 inches in diameter--even with Grandma using a bit of it now and then!

Until she died in 1992 at 103, if Grandma had a box to put away, she tied it with a bit of string or a strip of fabric. Those boxes, when one surfaces from storage today, are still securely tied - no brittle rubber bands or useless yellowed tape! Occasionally one is still tied with baker's twine from Grandpa's ball of string! THANK YOU for the wonderful memories.
