Christmas Memories Sarabook
I wanted to create a book honoring our family tradition of finding the perfect Christmas tree. Since I didnt need to make a big album, a sarabook was the perfect size. The Nature & Garden quotes emphasized the beauty of trees and really supported the theme of the book and the focus on the tree.
Throughout the book, I incorporated photographs punched out with a square punch. Using a square punch allows you to cut out your photo in a quick and easy manner, while focusing on the subject manner.

Basic techniques like covering the book cover, covering pages and binding the book can all be found here.
Cover the front and back covers with green weave paper. Use a blank page as a template to cut two pieces of green script paper. Ink the edges with black and center on the inside front and back covers. Ink the edges of the outside front and back covers with black.
For the inside front cover: Cut out the quote. Ink the edges with green, then black. Mat on light green scuff paper and center on inside front cover.
Page one: Cover the page with light green scuff. Ink the edges with black. Punch two photos into squares. Mat again on pearl glimmer paper and mat on dark green sponge paper. Ink the edges with black. Cut out the quotes, crumple and ink the peaks and valleys with green, and the edges with black. Attach earth word with foam tape. Place foam tape on the back of the embossed earth tag. Add mini brads in each end and attach to page.
Page two: Cover the page with green marble paper and ink the edges with black. Cut out the quote, ink edges with black and mat on green sponge paper. Mat on light green parchment and ink the edges with black. Place mini gold brads in each corner. Punch top of outdoors embossed word tag with 1/16 hole punch. Cut a small piece of wire, loop it and thread it through the hole and hang it from the mini brad. Center the quote on the marble paper.
Page three: Cover the page with green marble paper and ink the edges with black. Mat the large photo on green sponge paper, then on light green parchment. Place a large gold brad in the bottom left corner and glue embossed word to the photo in top left corner. Center on page. Punch photos with square punch and mat on glimmer, then on green sponge. Wrap wire around one side of square twice, secure behind with foam tape and adhere. Crumple the torn word, tuck into wire.
Page four: Cover the the page with green mottled paper. Punch photos into squares. Mat on glimmer, then on parchment. Ink the edges with black. Adhere to page with foam tape. Ink edges of the quote with green and black and center on page.
Inside back cover: Mat the photo on green sponge, then on parchment. Ink the edges with black and center on back cover. Tear out words, crumple and ink edges with black and green. Attach to back cover with mini brads. Place mini brads in embossed word and attach with foam tape.
Binding: Cut your fibers into 3 sections, thread through each hole, and tie.
